Crema's Take

Tucked away in Durango, this French patisserie punches way above its weight with adventurous croissants that blend classic technique with creative fillings—think tomato chile and bacon egg and cheese alongside traditional butter—plus standout specialties like the Torta de Elote that keep locals coming back. The pastries are genuinely exceptional and worth seeking out, though fair warning that the vibe skews toward a tight-knit community feel rather than a tourist-friendly welcome.

What to expect

Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit, quick-grab spot, good for meetings. Pastries on the menu. Family friendly.

Love everything I’ve had there over the last year! People commenting on the owner being “rude” have never traveled outside the US. Not every culture is over the top ooey gooey, but dang the woman can bake!!! She has a very dry sense of humor too, which I appreciate.

Delicious pastries and really nice people. The person who helped me was polite, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the pastries. The even had a few vegan options for my partner!

Stumbled upon this on our last day while grabbing coffee next door at 81301 Coffee (great btw). Will be dreaming of the ham/cheese biscuit thing, and the blueberry Danish was incredible. Will be trying to figure out how to get back from Texas for some pastries. Definitely a must!

Croissants and other similar pastries are great! Unfortunately the staff isn’t very friendly; maybe because we aren’t locals? Only an hour away, but definitely got some vibes that we weren’t welcome-here and coffee shop next door. Sad 😔 But food is good although seems super…

I really like La Bonne Patisserie. I have been in a few times to try different things, and have found the Torta de Elote (Corn Pudding Cake) is my favorite. Typically this wouldn't be something I'd get at first choice, but the taste, texture and consistency are all perfect!…
