Crema's Take

Tucked away in Durango, this French patisserie punches way above its weight with adventurous croissants that blend classic technique with creative fillings—think tomato chile and bacon egg and cheese alongside traditional butter—plus standout specialties like the Torta de Elote that keep locals coming back. The pastries are genuinely exceptional and worth seeking out, though fair warning that the vibe skews toward a tight-knit community feel rather than a tourist-friendly welcome.

Croissants and other similar pastries are great! Unfortunately the staff isn’t very friendly; maybe because we aren’t locals? Only an hour away, but definitely got some vibes that we weren’t welcome-here and coffee shop next door. Sad 😔 But food is good although seems super pricey.

I really like La Bonne Patisserie. I have been in a few times to try different things, and have found the Torta de Elote (Corn Pudding Cake) is my favorite. Typically this wouldn't be something I'd get at first choice, but the taste, texture and consistency are all perfect! Anytime I need a sweet treat, this is my go to! the coffee shop next door is best in town too!

Very sweet staff, and delicious pastries! I had the bacon egg and cheese croissant and the cherry pie croissant and both were perfect! Definitley a hidden gem!

I love coming in for special treats, exploring the diversity of flavor profiles and an ALWAYS pleased with the Breton roll. However the exceptional standards aren’t limited to the food! After leaving the shop I discovered my car was dead and the owner popped right out to help me jump my car and get back on the road! Thank you!

They didn’t look like much, but the tomato chile croissant was absolutely incredible. Let me reiterate that. It was INCREDIBLE! One of the best I’ve ever had, and an amazing fusion of old world and new world. Honestly would have not have chosen it if the owner hadn’t suggested it, glad she did! I can definitely understand some of the less positive reviews about service, but the food more than makes up for it. I’m going to be talking about that pastry for some time!
