Bliss Matcha and Beyond

Loved this place! Was just in New Haven for the day and craving a matcha. The staff welcomed us in and were very friendly, and the matcha was hand-whisked in front of us. We ordered an iced matcha latte with matcha cloud and an iced strawberry matcha latte, both with coconut milk. Both of them were delicious! The matcha cloud foam had so much matcha in it. The strawberry tasted so fresh and delicious. You can pick your sweetness level. We went with the recommended sweetness levels (less sugar for the cloud latte and no sugar for the strawberry matcha), and it was perfect. Definitely stop by if you have the chance.

Visited this newly opened cafe and loved it. The staff was super welcoming and made the whole experience feel warm right away. The strawberry matcha latte was fresh and perfectly balanced, and the banana pudding was creamy and comforting. Such a great combo. 10/10!

Overall a fine experience. The employees were super nice! You can tell the matcha is good quality, but it is super expensive. This may be a personal preference, but I did not enjoy the chunks of fruit as it took away from the matcha experience. I wish it was more of a liquid and not chucks. Definitely check it out if you want good quality matcha, just beware of the price. You can also get either boba or mochi free as a first free topping!

I’m genuinely surprised (in a good way!) that New Haven now has a spot as solid as Bliss. My favorite was the Jasmine Double Matcha Latte; really clean and smooth. The soft serve was also great, creamy with a slight matcha bitterness. It’s a cozy spot, the staffs are super friendly, and everything I’ve tried so far has been consistently good. Definitely a place I’d go back to often when I’m craving matcha.

These pictures don't even do this cafe justice! I ordered a strawberry matcha latte, mango matcha latte (not pictured), and matcha soft serve. Everything was delicious and very high quality! I could clearly taste the matcha, but it wasn't overpowering, nor tasted grassy, and it went well with the other flavors. There were lots of options on the menu and they had non-dairy choices as well. The service was exceptional with friendly and skilled employees that knew what they were doing. The owner (I think) frequently checked in to make sure I was enjoying my drinks, even giving me a sample of the ice cream unprompted. I waited no more than 5 minutes to receive my drinks and my order was completely correct. The cafe itself was a little small, but very cute and there was definitely space to sit and work or meet with friends. The interior was decorated very well and it felt bright and comfortable. I worked on my laptop for a few hours in there and it was very cozy. The location is a little bit easy to miss, but the sign makes it easy to find and it's a really cute area! I think this place is new, but it is definitely worth visiting! I plan on returning soon and HIGHLY recommend!!!
