Ralph’s Coffee

Crema's Take

Tucked into Fashion Island's scenic grounds, this newly opened Ralph's brings an American-classic coffee shop charm that feels refreshingly unhurried despite the wait—think stylish space perfect for lingering with friends over a quality cup and pastries. While the compact spot won't blow your mind with innovation, the genuinely friendly staff and surprisingly good coffee (plus a tempting soft serve option) make it worth a visit, even if it's just once during your time in Newport Beach.

Be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes in line. The coffee shop is very stylish and they have lots of overpriced merch. The price of the coffee and food itself is typical. The quality of the drinks are very good as well. Staff are very friendly. There is limited seating so most people just take it to go.

Located next to the coi pond in Fashion Island. The drinks are fine, but I expected more for the croissant. Great atmosphere and clean single bathroom.

Very friendly staff and the atmosphere was nice. Coffee was good, but probably a one-and-done for me during my trip. Still a cool spot to check out at least once.

Overall ⭐⭐⭐½☆ (3.5/5) Context Recently opened in Newport. I stopped by while walking around with friends. Environment ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ The space is very small—smaller than the Ralph’s Coffee locations I’ve been to in New York and Chicago. There are only about 5–7 tables total. On a Saturday, the line was around an hour, which felt long given the limited seating and menu. Food & Drinks ⭐⭐⭐½☆ • Matcha Latte ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Pretty average. Drinkable, but nothing memorable. • Ice Cream ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Surprisingly good. Better than expected and easily the highlight of the visit.

Finally! Ralph’s made it to the west coast 🤩 such a cute vibe, the coffee was actually very good, and you must try the soft serve too! Very quaint, American-classic style coffee shop in a great location. We went on a Friday afternoon on opening week and the wait was 1-1.5 hours so I’d expect to wait a while. I heard if you buy something at RL next door you can cut the line. Their drinks were surprisingly well-priced but the merch is a bit more pricey. Can’t wait to go back!
