Brooklyn Perk
605 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY
Crema's Take
“This lowkey Flatbush Avenue gem has earned fierce neighborhood loyalty with genuinely skilled baristas who pour beautiful latte art and pull punchy espresso shots that locals swear by. The cozy, no-frills space—outfitted with plenty of outlets—strikes that rare balance of being a legitimate third place without the pretension, where a friendly staff and carefully curated music create an atmosphere that makes you want to linger with your laptop or just sit with your coffee. Their specialty drinks showcase real technique and creativity, and even a simple iced black coffee arrives with serious intent.”

baristas are all really nice and friendly, music in the shop is usually very listenable. basic coffee shop w few seats but plenty of outlets. very lowkey vibe, reasonable coffee and pastries. not really food per se, but snacks. the shop seems neighborly— there’s often families sitting and chilling.
I moved to the neighborhood in late 2020 and this place has been my favorite coffee place around since I started going at some point in 2021. It just occurred to me that this is one of the only places I can think of from my entire life that has maintained an excellent product for several years AND where every single person I've ever been helped by there is suuuuper nice. That's a big deal, as most of the coffee places I go to in Manhattan around where I work, the employees are perfectly competent and helpful but usually pretty cold. Never change, Brooklyn Perk!
Delicious coffee and beautiful latte art. I ordered a cappuccino and it was amazing. The space was nice and cozy as well. The barista working was very friendly and made a wonderful drink.
Ordered a small iced black coffee. Be forewarned — it’ll put some hair on your chest :P. Just the way I like it. Staff is superb: warm, inviting, and accommodating. They acknowledged me when I first walked in. The barista noticed I was staring at my cup with a quizzical look when I got my order and asked if everything was fine. I asked if this was the 12 oz and he said it was; did I want a bigger size? I said no, just looked smaller than I anticipated. He said he could give me a bigger size, it was no issue. While I declined, his level of customer service really stood out to me. Appreciate folks like the staff here as they make neighborhoods feel special.
Overall rating: 4.5 Cute coffee spot on Flatbush Ave. unplanned, walked by for a quick drink. I can’t remember what I got but it was a flavored latte and doesn’t seem to show on the menu. I think it was Oreo? But I really don’t know. Anyway it was just okay. I didn’t taste the flavor at all. 1. Nutter butter latte 2. Beef empanada 3. Matcha Beef empanada was good. Matcha was alright. I want to go back and try a classic flavor. Cute ambiance regardless. Great seats for working remotely. Will def be back.
