Crema's Take
“Tucked into Travelers Rest, this beloved local gem has earned serious devotion for its exceptional housemade baguettes (reviewers swear they rival France) and a breakfast menu that delivers knockout dishes like the legendary "Potato Freak" frittata. The intimate, plant-filled space strikes the perfect balance between cozy neighborhood spot and productive workspace, where you can linger over an excellent coffee and pastry, catch up with friends, or tackle work—all while supporting a place that clearly cares about ingredient quality, even marking down day-old pastries to ensure nothing goes to waste.”

As a local, this is one of the best (if not THE best) restaurant in upstate SC. They, hands down, have the BEST baguettes I have ever had in my life (and I have been to France).
This is a very small restaurant. The menu is on the wall when you walk in. Not very easy to read. They have day old pastries for 30% off. I like that. Theyre cheaper and it shows they focus on freshness. Im not sure how the kitchen works but the food is super slow. Its good that we got these day old brownies to munch on. I ordered the French toast casserole. It came out and about 3 mins later the other half of the order came out. The brownies are delicious. Even day old. The French toast casserole was very good. I love the flavor. The texture isnt what I was expecting. Id drive back for it though. The rest stop sandwich is really good. Overall a good experience. The owner seems very involved. I would suggest individual menus. The font is difficult to read and a lot of the older customers in front of me were having a hard time. Then they had to read the menu by the register and that slowed down the ordering process. Id recommended this place. Come on Saturday so you can get the French toast casserole. Its only here 1 day a week.
Absolutely amazing frittata named the Potato Freak. Best breakfast I have had in years. “Smack yo’ mama” level of goodness
I picked up dinner last night for my wife and myself. The sandwiches on the menu looked very eclectic and original. I ordered the Up-a-letta, my wife ordered the Poinsett Club. Both were about 90% bread with a the smallest serving of meat I have ever seen. It couldn't have been more than 2oz. On my way to the register I grabbed some pimento cheese out of the cooler, thinking it would a good snack the next day. I just sat down to have some and opened it and it's covered in moldy spots. Terrible food, terrible value. I don't have a problem with expensive cuisine. I would rather pay a lot and get good, clean food. However, the sandwiches barely constituted a meal and just tasted like mouthfuls of dry bread. Obviously I didn't taste the moldy pimento cheese. I don't know how anywhere can expect to stay in business operating like this.
This is the cutest place! The breakfast sandwich was perfect. The atmosphere is amazing fire a breakfast and reading or even catching up on emails. They have plants, grifts and play music. The plant cutting wall is such a cute idea! We will definitely be back soon.
