Tinto Y Crema
6 Vendue Range, Charleston, SC
Crema's Take
“This cozy downtown spot brings an Italian-inspired coffee and gelato experience to Charleston, with genuinely delicious gelatos in creative flavors and espresso drinks like affogatos that transport you back from your travels. The space is intimate and quick-grab friendly, perfect for a post-walk treat near the Pineapple Fountain, though the small seating area means most folks grab their milkshakes or coffees to go. Fair warning: the service can be inconsistent, but when the gelato and espresso are this good, many visitors overlook the occasional rough edges.”

Really great place to come get some Gelato when you're downtown. I always grab a milkshake to go, and they are so good. Lots of good flavor options and fresh whipping cream as well. Close enough to take your milkshake and grab a seat on a swing by the pier to relax. Great experience everytime. 👍
Delicious gelatos!! The flavors were amazing. However staff was not so friendly and there was very few places to seat, very small space.
Stopped in after visiting the Pineapple Fountain, park and dock. Saw they had affogatos and I had just returned from Italy so I had to have one. It was pretty good, not Italy but it was good and flavorful. The girl that waited on us said they received some of their product from Italy. They have a few tables outside to have your sweet treats on.
Stopped by Tinto y Crema while exploring Charleston, and while the gelato itself was genuinely delicious, the customer service left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, the girl with the orange hair who served me was noticeably unwelcoming—no greeting, no smile, and an overall attitude that made me feel utterly disrespected. It really took away from what could have been a great experience. It’s a shame, because the quality of the gelato is solid and worth coming back for—but hospitality matters, especially in a city known for its charm. I hope the service improves, because the product definitely deserves better.
I was in the mood for Gelato. I had the pistachio with the blue caramel waffle cone. My husband had an iced coffe with caramel in it. We both enjoyed our choices. My cone was piled high. I could not finish it all but it was really good. We were satisfied.
