Crema's Take

Grateful Roast makes the kind of thoughtful, traditional espresso drinks you'd expect to find in Italy—proper macchiatos and quality pour overs—alongside adventurous cold brew preparations like Kyoto drip that justify the premium pricing for travelers willing to detour off the highway. The vibe is genuinely special, with live acoustic music on weekends and baristas who actually care about teaching you about what you're drinking, making it feel less like a caffeine transaction and more like a real discovery.

What to expect

Espresso-focused, with a pour-over program, good cold brew. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings.

I’m all about supporting small businesses, but I was charged $8.21 for a cold brew coffee with cold foam today! Unless your coffee is made of gold that’s ridiculous!

I was looking for a quality coffee shop on my travels and found this spot so I hopped off the highway and it was worth the stop. I ended up trying the Kyoto Cold Drip. It was delicious. Different. I've never had anything quite like it. I believe it's a special type of cold brew…

Really enjoyed stopping in on a recent Sunday. The two piece band (guitar and clarinet I believe?) really set the mood. The staff, particularly the young woman behind the counter, was very friendly and accommodating. Also thoroughly enjoyed my espresso (with frozen blueberries)…

What a wonderful experience finding a coffee shop in the states that makes a traditional (Italian) Macchiato. Also had a dirty chai that was yummy. Madison the super nice and friendly barista taught me all about coffee “syphone” can’t wait to tell the folks back home in Italy.…

Good local coffee shop in the Clark Summit area. The service was very fast for a Saturday morning and the coffee and bagels were great. My only suggestion for this establishment would be to offer breakfast sandwiches.
