La Colombe Hudson Square
75 Vandam St, New York, NY
Crema's Take
“La Colombe Hudson Square roasts an intensely bold, unsweet espresso that dominates their drinks—their cortados and lattes are powerfully strong, though their pour-over program needs work. The sprawling Hudson Square location boasts pristine aesthetics and plenty of seating for lingering, but comes with a caveat: the blasted music volume clashes with the neighborhood's vibe and can overwhelm the experience. If you're seeking excellent matcha, signature creative drinks, and genuinely warm staff in a spacious setting where you can actually stay awhile, this spot delivers, just maybe bring headphones or aim for quieter hours.”

Don’t order the pour over! I did, there only one roast, no selection, it tasted worse than most drips I’ve had (even worse than hotel breakfast drips), and it’s supposed to be a pour over. Price was fine, probably should have suspected something was off then. It’s not even that the brew was bland or something, it was probably the worst pour over I’ve ever had, and from a place aiming to call itself specialty that’s just sad. Place is big and has lots of places to sit. Offers free WiFi
Good coffee! Aesthetic is clean with huge space but atmosphere does not match the vibe of the neighborhood. It is LOUD. They blast music on full volume to the point that we can feel it through our bodies.
Awesome customer service and friendly teller (she is sporting a short hair, love her ❤️) It’s my first time in NYC and by far this is one for the books. Love the Matcha, the cookies and the Cortada.
Delicious latte in town, the coffee was so strong. It would definetely be suitable for people who loved unsweet beverages. The place was cozy, plenty tables for u to sit and hang out. However, there wasn't any AC power plugs for u to charge ur phone. The toilet was clean and they provided sparkling water yeay The barista, who also became the cashier was friendly and nice. Really loved her integrity.
Few forms of anxiety are as tangible as the first day at a new job. You gotta meet a whole group of new people, learn a whole new product, and be on your best behavior for the first 2 months before you can let your actual humor leak out so no one thinks you're a nut. I came to this La Colombe before my first day as it was the closest coffee shop to the new office. Plus my lil baby got me a gift card as she looked up what was in the area. That's luv. My start time was at 9 but I got here at 7:30 because Murphy's Law is always looming in the ether. My life is one long battle to disprove Murphy's Law. I took a cold brew to the dome that was good and got me locked in, but $5.50+ is just like DAMN. Hittin the pockets... Even Starbucks cold brew is expensive now though so must just be a function of the market. It's actually so clean in here. I'd eat off these floors. Hudson Square in general is such an underrated area. Restaurants are clean and well kept, streets are nice, beautiful people walking around everywhere. It's like a little oasis. A much calmer pace than the rest of Manhattan. 2 weeks in now, and the new job is going pretty well. Already got my core homies in here. But I mean, it's just a job at the end of the day. Can't let it define me. That's how depression creeps in… You didn't ask any of this so I'm gonna stop now. La Colombe is now my local spot to come decompress and get some alone time if I need it. Or to just pick up a cold brew and rip a walk. Walking is hella underrated. Ig @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews
