The Jesse Coffee
306 E 4th St, Reno, NV
Crema's Take
“Tucked into what used to be primarily known as a bar, The Jesse has quietly become Reno's unexpected morning gem, where you can grab excellent coffee at fair prices in a bright, flower-filled space that's just as welcoming for a solo coffee session as it is for a Thursday morning chess meetup. The vibe here is genuinely casual and community-oriented—regulars drop in for their Easyriders and specialty drinks, then settle into the comfortable seating for hours, making it feel less like a transaction and more like stepping into a local's living room.”

I always thought of The Jesse as just a bar, but it’s definitely going to be my morning coffee stop from now on. The coffee is great, the space is bright and comfortable, and the fresh flowers are a nice touch. They have fresh pastries daily from Belove’d and no long lines, which is a huge plus. The handmade ceramic cups from Turkey are really cool, and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely worth checking out.
Great coffee at a reasonable price. Yes, it's a bar but also a coffee shop.
We love this place! Every Thursday and Sunday morning we go there for a great coffee and chess. They have people dropping in for chess both days and it’s a welcoming, casual experience- we prefer to bring our own board and play each other, but the more skilled chess players are super nice and would happily play us if we had the courage lol. Just a really great ritual and third place in a time where both have widely disappeared. Skip the video games, come out to the Jesse instead!
Great customer service! I got the Easyrider specialty coffee. Delicious! Perfect start to our day.
This felt more like a bar than a coffee shop. Had to walk through a side entrance instead of a main entrance? Why have a nice main entrance right off a very walkable busy sidewalk to just close it off to the public? No visible signs to indicate there was coffee, alcohol or even a hotel here. Just one sign with a "J" on it. The espresso was just okay, mid at best. I've had better espresso at more easily accesible places in Reno. The bartender was friendly but even the sizes are so small, it barely qualifies as a coffee shop. My danish was bigger than my coffee and as someone who loves coffee I was very sad to see their largest size was only 12 ounces.
