Strange Matter Coffee

We were in town for basketball and accidentally stopped here because my daughter wanted donuts. Happiest detour ever, because they had gluten free donuts and they were delicious! I haven't had donuts in years! I got the white frosting with sprinkles and cinnamon sugar. They were soft, stayed together, and tasted just like a regular donut!! 🍩 I skipped out the door!

Just stopped in to grab some donuts because google suggested this vegan bakery! Walked in, was greeted but not helped. I was the only person in the store. Most things on display were unlabeled so I had to ask what each and every item in the bakery case was, and was met with an attitude like I was bothering the employee by asking. Atmosphere was certainly lacking. Can’t speak to the taste of the donuts yet, however likely won’t be back ): Super unfortunate.

My mocha latte was deliciously frothy, I also got a blueberry frosted donut that was a fun spin on the usual blueberry donut! More than the food I loved the painted back wall and deeply appreciated the accommodations in the front and restroom (see pictures) I have never been so impressed by a cafe before!

Since current health change, diet/nutrition has been more tweaked. We was looking for hot tea and came across this Hidden Lansing gem! Double bonus they have vegan donuts with choices The hot tea Chamomile was delicious. The pumpkin cheesecake was so delicious I wish I brought one home for later!

Strange Matter was a busy place when I visited, but I found it quite pleasant. The space is modern and relaxed, and the donuts looked great. I got two donuts and their Guatemalan pour over coffee. The coffee was delicious and complex, and it was worthwhile drinking without adulteration. The donuts were also quite tasty; I tried the pistachio and brown butter donut along with the lemon and lavender donut. This was a great little coffee shop to spend some time.
