Yinz Coffee
2 E North Ave, Pittsburgh, PA
Crema's Take
“Yinz Coffee is a proudly local Pittsburgh gem that holds its own against the corporate coffee chain across the street, earning devoted fans with creative seasonal drinks and genuinely friendly baristas who'll improvise when you're craving something specific. The space strikes that perfect balance between a quick caffeine stop and a laptop-friendly hangout with a chill, creative vibe—though fair warning, their specialty chai lattes are potent enough to require strategic oat milk choices. It's the kind of place where the staff goes the extra mile, whether that's offering thoughtful alternatives when syrups run out or crafting off-menu fall drinks just because you asked.”

STOP TRYING TO POISON ME. On three separate occasions I have been sold a beverage that has destroyed me. I order oat milk chai’s because I don’t want to blow up your bathroom. Why do you do this??? I got my chai, took a sip- immediate tummy rumble. I knew it was not oat milk but I had no proof and as a barista myself, I didn’t want to bother anyone. This happened A SECOND TIME one month later. I thought that I was mistaken and maybe I had a bad reaction to their oat milk brand, but no. I watched them make my drink once, ensuring that they had used oat, and I did not fall ill. Another time I bought a bottled sweet iced tea- EXPIRED-there were CLUMPS AT THE BOTTOM. They gave me a new one, so I felt better about them. BUT THEN I went to buy an iced tea a second time, hoping things had changed, of course I had trust issues so I checked the date and it was 2 MONTHS PAST DUE. I have only been here 6 times and 50% of them end with an extended bathroom visit. I am done giving yinz the benefit of the doubt because 3 separate poisonings is enough for me. It’s also so hot in there all the time and they change the music mid song constantly which is disorienting. But the food is pretty good and baristas seem fun.
Came at the end of the day so sadly the syrup I wanted wasn't available (high demand). But the batista gave alternative options and prepared the latte well. If you like all things Pittsburgh, then this black and gold coffee chain is the place for you 🖤💛
In town for the Packers game, this was near our rental. Had to try it bc of the name. Good coffee, friendly staff, lots of drink options. The oatmeal maple latte was super yummy, a tad sweet, but really good. We hoped to have breakfast too, but the choices were a bit limited, definitely a coffee first spot. Final take, you should definitely give it a try when yinz are in tahn.
Cute spot. Their fall drinks weren’t out yet but they still made me one that was yummy. I did see the barista leave on his bike without a helmet - safety first! Otherwise, would definitely recommend supporting this local spot.
Thumbing its nose at Starbucks across the street is local favorite Yinz Coffee. Baristas are friendly and the vibe is chill and creative...a perfect place to sit down to write with a cup of joe. The beans are roasted locally (but not in-house) and the current batch has a fantastic blueberry finish. The chai tea is worth a few bucks too. Milk alternatives are available, including oat milk. Bathrooms are non gendered single rooms. No outdoor seating.
