Triumph Market
201 SE 12th Ave, Portland, OR
Crema's Take
“Triumph Market is a beloved SE Portland institution that mastered the art of doing everything well—their espresso pulls with precision, their breakfast bagel sandwiches with locally-sourced freshness, and their wine recommendations with genuine expertise. It's the kind of place that inspires people to keep coming back multiple times a week, whether you're settling in for a slow morning or grabbing something quick, all while being met by staff who actually care and a hand-painted aesthetic that feels authentically Portland. Between their creative specialty drinks, solid cold brew, and thoughtful food offerings (vegan treats included), it's earned its reputation as a low-key local favorite with genuinely good vibes.”

For two of my four years in Portland I lived just around the corner from Triumph and brought my patronage multiple times a week, and even when I eventually lived on the other side of the river I made a point of going when the opportunity presented itself. If specific errands brought me to the East Side, I thought, "Perfect! I can get an Americano from my favorite local business." Sometimes to justify a trip over I'd think "I want to stop by Triumph, isn't it about time I went to the dentist?" Of course, many times I'd head over there because just wanting to stop by is a good enough reason on its own. Now it would take a 3 hour flight to get to Oregon, so it's a little harder to make that happen! Nevertheless, every single coffee shop or local corner market I walk into I compare it to Triumph, and unsurprisingly I have yet to find any place that reaches the bar Emily sets in her store. If you're looking for a place with charm and a sense of belonging to its community, you've found it.
I have been here twice for some good local wines and some snacks and have not ever been disappointed by the selection or recs. The wine recommendations are always spot on and it's a great place to pick up a sweet treat or coffee if you're into that as well. Defimitely recommend! Absolute big plus since it's walking distance from mt place.
One of our favorite places in SE Portland to get fresh breakfast bagel sandwiches! 🤤 Affordable prices, fresh and local ingredients always. The staff are always so friendly and helpful, the atmosphere of the shop is also super cute and cozy. Highly recommend!
Great coffee, good vibes and a local favorite. vegan treats. Some fancy flavored coffee some chairs and seats. Hand painted signage for the win. Pleasent staff, has everything you’d want a coffee shop to have. 1/23’ All employees wore masks and encouraged patrons to do the same
Low-key coffee shop with a decent selection of breakfast and lunch items like pastries, bagels, burritos, sandwiches. I came by an early weekday morning and had a breakfast burrito which was delicious. The one thing that bugs me a little is that the lady before me had a big order and because there was just one person manning the shop, from taking orders to making coffee to preparing sandwiches, I had quite a wait.
