Crema's Take
“Gateaux Patisserie is a beautifully decorated neighborhood gem where skilled baristas create latte art alongside an impressive lineup of French-inspired pastries and decadent desserts like biscoff cheesecake and chocolate mousse. The welcoming atmosphere and attentive service make it an ideal spot to linger over coffee and conversation, though some longtime visitors note the quality was even richer before their recent renovation.”

I love visiting this patisserie whenever I’m in Dearborn Heights. Everything here is phenomenal. If you have a sweet tooth you will love this place. Their chocolate chip cookies are easily one of my favorites, and the drinks are always so good too. It’s the perfect spot to meet up with friends, catch up, or even get some studying done. The space is super spacious with plenty of seating, which makes it such a comfortable place to stay awhile.
I’ve tried the croissant, chocolate mousse, berry cheesecake, red velvet cheesecake, and biscoff cheesecake, and they never disappoint. The ambience is beautiful, and they offer a great selection of desserts along with a lovely seasonal menu. The chocolate mousse and red velvet are my favorites and definite must-tries! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it.
I love the place from the decoration to the cleanse and tidiness. The lovely girls who take our orders or the artist girl who do our coffee she do amazing art.
I have been coming to this café since day one, both before and after the renovation, and honestly their quality before was so much better. The drinks and desserts used to be rich, flavorful, and worth the price. Now many of the items that made them special are no longer on the menu. My friends and I went last night, and while the atmosphere is beautiful and the service was amazing, the desserts were really disappointing. They were bland and lacked flavor. This is not the first time I have noticed this, which is why I decided to finally write a review. For how pricey everything is, the desserts simply do not deliver. As for the drinks, I have never been a fan. They used to have a rose tea I loved, but it is gone now. We ordered hot chocolate this time, and it was honestly the worst I have ever had. It tasted like a cheap packet mix stirred into warm water, not even hot. Definitely skip the hot chocolate. On a positive note, my friends enjoyed their hot lattes, so maybe stick to those if you visit.
I absolutely love this place! The quality is always outstanding, and I truly appreciate how much work goes into running a small business. They brought a unique concept to West Dearborn that no one has been able to match! My mom’s 70th birthday cake was stunning—beautiful, classy, and incredibly delicious. Thank you for being such an important part of our community and for always being the best!
