Crema's Take
“Candor is a minimalist gem in Wicker Park where creative seasonal drinks like their Black Salt Mocha and maple miso matcha sit alongside thoughtfully pulled espresso and pour overs. The clean, windowed space strikes that rare balance between a serious coffee destination and a genuinely welcoming spot to linger with a friend or your laptop, all while their croissants and cardamom buns prove they're equally committed to what's on the plate.”

Came here for the unique drink menu, and the flavors were excellent. I got the maple miso matcha (a flavor combo I WILL be stealing to make at home) and my gf got the vanilla bean latte. Both drinks had a lot of flavor; however they were very bitter on account of the syrup not being mixed with the espresso/matcha. It was settled at the bottom of the drink and hard to mix since the drinks were full to the brim. Even so, the quality of the matcha and espresso was good. Matcha was a bit too astringent and lacking in umami, but much better than most cafes in the area. Didn’t take any pics inside as it was utterly packed. Only a few chairs and all were taken, so clearly a popular spot! Oddly sterile/cold atmosphere with white walls, a few metal seats, and almost no room to stand. Awkward getting in and out as the line blocked the door, and the staff, who were lovely and friendly, seemed rather cramped as well. Overall, very expensive but worth it drinks for the occasional treat as long as you mix them very well, but don’t count on sitting down and don’t come here to chill unless you come super early.
A nice addition to the neighborhood. Interior was minimal and a cozy work space but drinks were far below average. My vanilla latte was extremely watered down when I received it and inedible and mocha was mediocre as well. I returned my drink and barista kindly offered a new drink but I was not expecting to like any offerings at this time. Hope to see better options and improvements made in the future.
The place to grab coffee in Wicker Park! Visiting from out of town and have loved their clean straight forward vibe. Their seasonal Black Salt Mocha hit on all the right notes and the Cardamon Bun was a perfect compliment sourced from a local bakery.
Incredible coffee shop on Division! Intimate little cafe, clean aesthetic inside, incredible windows, even better coffee and croissants. I have been here a few times, and I usually get an espresso, and then a latte. I have had the Burnt Honey Orange Blossom (BHOB) latte, it comes with a dried orange slice on top and is beautiful. I have also gotten the black salt mocha, it has black salt sprinkled on top. All very beautiful and delicious. The espresso isn’t bitter at all, definitely ground well, with hints of cherry, and smoke. Very good. I also got a pistachio croissant, which is stuffed with a jam like pistachio, it’s sweet, salty. Definitely recommend. It’s a small place with about 6 tables so possibly 12 seats. They are a great stop!
So excited for this new coffee shop in town! Had a Flat White and a vanilla latte during my visit. The coffee was great, balanced, perfect temp, and delicious. Truly a lovely atmosphere to work, meet friends, or stop by for a drink on the go. The service was great and very friendly. I really felt like I was in a Western European oasis; reminded me of my favorite spots in Belgium and The Netherlands. Cannot wait for my next time at Candor. ✨☕️
