ZOLA Coffee & Tea
4418 Park Ave, Wilmington, NC
Crema's Take
“Nestled within a charming independent bookstore in downtown Wilmington, ZOLA Coffee & Tea is a beautifully cozy sanctuary where you can linger over meticulously roasted in-house espresso, pour overs, and creative matcha drinks while browsing carefully curated books. The attentive staff genuinely elevates the experience—they'll bring your coffee to your table without you asking—making it feel less like a transaction and more like being welcomed into someone's thoughtfully designed home. Whether you're a coffee enthusiast seeking single-origin precision or someone looking for a quiet, unhurried place to work or meet, ZOLA punches well above what you'd expect from a neighborhood spot.”

While there are many coffee shops in the area, Zola is truly cute and cozy. The service is outstanding – they even brought our coffee to us while we were browsing the lovely selection of books! I highly recommend trying their turmeric cinnamon latte with oat milk (made perfectly without syrup). And what was actually impressive- they make fresh turmeric shots from the root! Looks like it’s a wonderful place to hang out!
This place is seriously underrated! They have AMAZING coffee, and their atmosphere is unique and quiet. I honestly don’t know why more people don’t go here, especially since it is connected to a local bookstore.
The coffee is great! Staff are very nice and friendly. They have so many exotic drinks but their classic cappuccino is as awesome! Definitely recommend this place. The book store is pretty cool as well, get a coffee and walk around :)
This unique place called Pomegranate Books and Zola cafe is a hidden gem in Wilmington that I discovered shortly after moving to Wilmington about 5 years ago. Zola Cafe roasts their coffees in house and the specialty coffee drinks and teas are creative and full of flavor! I attended a book signing last night with author, Andrew Lawler, who wrote the book, "The Secret Token" about the myths, obsessions, and the search for the 'Lost Colony of Roanoke.' There was a crowd of over 30 people who attended to hear an excerpt and we were able to engage our curiosity with questions and answers from Andrew. You will always be greeted and assisted by the awesome, well-read people who work there, led by owner and host, Kathleen! They have such a great collection of books, old and new, beautiful cards and gifts, and my personal best place to get 'Puzzles'! Artistic, creative, unique, rare, are all the different types of things you will find there. They even have free wi-fi so you can enjoy a refreshing drink and delicious snacks, while catching up with emails or surfing the web. Our community is a better place because of great local businesses like Pomegranate Books and Zola cafe.
Wonder, delicious coffee, masquerading as a book store. Or is it a book store masquerading as a coffee shop? Can't go wrong either way.
