This is the kind of place every community needs. It is a kind, well-executed locus of this small town. My friends and I go up once a year and our waitress remembers us, and treats us as if were family every time. The food is well above average for this kind of spot. Everything they do is absolutely solid. To be able to walk in and know you will never be disappointed is a blessing that Red Rooster delivers on with great care!
Great small town eats! These guys have great service and is a family favorite. Who needs to leave town when the food is this good and you have wonderful people like Hilda to greet you!
I can’t say enough good things about The Red Rooster in Durham! From the moment you walk in, it feels like home, especially if you’re lucky enough to get Mama Theresa as your server. Her service is absolutely impeccable; she treats you like family and makes sure your coffee and smile are always full. The portions? Absolutely massive and downright delicious. I had the prime rib breakfast, and wow perfectly pink, melt-in-your-mouth prime rib, crispy hash browns, and eggs done just right. The pancakes are as big as the plate and come with that glorious scoop of butter that melts into every bite. And the prices? Let’s just say I almost felt guilty for paying so little for food this good. If you’re anywhere near Durham, stop at The Red Rooster. Ask for Mama Theresa, you’ll walk out happy and full, already planning your next visit. Another visit to this little hole in the wall amazing breakfast establishment. Got a large chicken fried steak with 3 eggs overeasy and 2 eggs scrambled with 2 bacon (2+2). Absolutely amazing quality on the food and food was out incredibly fast during a very busy service. All in all great visit and can't wait to come back. 15/15
