Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits
2051 N California Ave, Chicago, IL
Crema's Take
“This unassuming Chicago spot has earned legendary status for its made-to-order biscuits and seasonal pies that inspire genuine devotion—reviewers genuinely debate whether the lavender butter egg and bacon biscuit or the precisely balanced chocolate pecan pie deserves top honors. The vibe balances perfectly between a quick counter grab and a leisurely sit on the cozy back patio, where the staff's attentiveness (like sourcing rare seasonal pies for regulars) turns a simple breakfast into something people plan their visits around. Whether you're catching coffee and a pastry on the go or settling in for a full breakfast with friends, the care in every detail, especially those exceptional biscuits, makes this feel like the kind of neighborhood gem that becomes a cherished tradition.”

Are you kidding me if I ever go to the electric chair this is what I’m going to have for my last meal !!! biscuit with egg and bacon with lavender butter. The guy who took care of me at the counter if you see this thanks a lot great experience I might even go back tomorrow.😳❤️
Every thing was amazing. But I have to talk about the the chocolate pecan pie. The pie’s flavors were so balanced and precise that it became an argument for the value of small, immediate experiences. We often think fulfillment must come from major achievements or profound discoveries, yet this dessert demonstrated that contentment can originate from something as ordinary as food prepared with intention. The heart is full.
Absolutely hands down best pie I’ve ever had. We ordered a very specific pie that is only in season once a year for a few weeks and Shannon and her whole team went out of their way to get this pie done for me. It had a very sentimental meaning to it and the team really went so far above and beyond to make sure they were able to get this pie done. I will forever be coming back to get any future pie with them. It was absolutely delicious beyond expectations.
Fun cozy spot with some tasty bites! The sausage biscuit was amazing, the biscuit really stole the show though. The cup of grits came as a bowl of grits and were alright. The key lime pie was perfect - not too sweet, not too tart. The service was so kind and inviting. The inside seating section is decent but they also have a great big outdoor section with picnic tables and a fence to make it feel more secluded. Love this spot!
Unassuming great spot for breakfast. There is a great patio out back and a quick counter order format. The biscuits are great with the jam or as a sandwich. The BLT and chicken sausage biscuit where huge hits. I highly recommend this spot to grab a quick breakfast for
