Awaken Coffee House

Whenever I’m in Garland I stop by. I love supporting their mission and the seasonal menu is always good. I just think it contains too much caffeine because I always feel dizzy after drinking coffee from here.

I really love supporting local businesses, and I was genuinely excited to try this coffee shop — especially because it’s inside a church and 100% of the proceeds go to helping children in need. That mission alone is wonderful and worth supporting. The coffee shop itself was fine, but the overall atmosphere didn’t feel very warm or inviting. The woman who helped me was polite, but the interaction felt a bit cold, which stood out in a space I expected to feel welcoming. I also ordered a ham and cheese croissant and was handed it cold — I had to ask for it to be warmed up, which felt a little awkward. I truly want this place to succeed because of its mission, and I hope with a warmer, more inviting customer experience it can become a spot people are excited to return to.

The Coffee, Staff, Service, and Atmosphere is superb and very friendly! The taste feels just like home and everyone is so welcoming! A must visit experience!!

Ahhh what a cute spot! It’s inside a church which at first may put you off if you aren’t a church goer. This is not an issue (: I would definitely recommend this spot it’s our favorite coffee in the area!! The espresso is perfect and the overall drink is perfectly balanced. My husband loves the frappe because it’s blended well and has a great flavor without being too sweet!
