Caffè Cosi
3501 James St, Syracuse, NY
Crema's Take
“Caffè Cosi captures that unhurried European café feeling right in Syracuse, with marble tables, vintage photographs, and cozy couches that make you want to linger over espresso and conversation. The husband-and-wife owners Chris and Kate Fernandez have created an genuinely welcoming space where families and laptop dwellers alike find their rhythm, backed up by excellent coffee, house-made pastries like their standout hazelnut croissants, and thoughtful touches like their refreshing Sicilian lemonade. It's the kind of place where a first croissant becomes a cherished memory and regulars keep coming back for the kindness as much as the cappuccino.”

Went for breakfast. Space is clean, modern, decorated tastefully and distinctive. The niece had her first ever choc. & hazel nut croissant (loved it all the way). I had the breakfast sandwich on ciabatta. Bread was fresh, sandwich was seasoned well, drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning, tomato, a light dressing and fresh mozzarella tied the whole thing together. Would order this again (and again). Iced coffee was a drip house blend served over frozen coffee cubes (genius), ice cold but not watered down. So very glad we stopped in.
It's a great atmosphere, like an Italian, Mexican or French outdoor café (only indoors). Marble tables, couches with some reading material (books and magazines), nostalgic photos on the wall, excellent overhead lighting and friendly staff and owners. Their pastries are imported from a local vendor, but sandwiches and breakfast items are all made fresh. Chris and Kate are the owners, with Hannah as the barista to make your coffee Americano, Cappuchino, Drip Coffee, Espresso, Mocha Latte, etc. (hot or cold.) I highly recommend this place for a relaxing atmosphere, with nice music selection from Italian coffee music. P.S. Did I mention it's pet friendly too? Italian Lemonaide was just put on the menu as well.
Just visited Caffe Cosi yesterday and it was wonderful! The gal that waited on my was very friendly and the coffee and biscotti were marvelous! I’ll definitely be back!
Haven’t tried any of the food yet but the atmosphere is great and kind owners! Tried the Sicilian Lemonade (fizzy) and loved it - super refreshing for the upcoming summer days. Perfect balance of sour and sweet and didn’t scream artificial sweeteners at my tastebuds which I appreciated 🍋🤘🏻. Coworkers tried the iced chai, iced dirty chai, and dark roast all with stellar reviews! Love to support new businesses!
Caffe' Così, an Italian and Spanish-inspired coffee shop, opened Wednesday - (Caffe' Cosi) in Eastwood -Syracuse N.Y. Owned by Chris and Kate Fernandez’s, the cafe is a manifestation of the hospitality they experienced traveling in Europe. It has a cozy atmosphere and Friendly staff.
