Crema's Take
“Tucked into Provincetown's charming streets, this restaurant and cafe seamlessly blends a stunning contemporary dining room with a welcoming cafe atmosphere, earning consistent praise for both its inventive dishes (the shaking beef and pork loin are standouts) and genuinely attentive service that makes guests feel special even on busy nights. Beyond the restaurant side, it's a solid neighborhood spot for coffee and casual bites, with a warm vibe that appeals equally to couples seeking romance, families, and travelers looking for a reliable local favorite.”

Nice restaurant with an interesting menu. The pork loin was on point. Kudos to the Chef. African stew - nice, but why bring a continent into that name. Hummus - nice try again, but focaccia with hummus is a bit of a stretch. The vindaloo on the other hand - try again, or alternatively, just don’t! Unless the goal was to offer up some bastardized version of the real dish that looked, smelled and tasted absolutely nothing like the real thing. Can you get away with some bottled obscenity with the un-initiated public, yes. But then somebody like me who grew up on vindaloo comes along and here we are. The only reason why I chose this place was specifically this dish, only to be greatly disappointed. I’d be happy to send you my mother’s recipe so that you can actually offer the real thing. Service and atmosphere- impeccable.
Delicious food, the shaking beef is a must. Service was great too even though we were here on Halloween we didn’t feel neglected or that the server was overwhelmed.. definitely will be back
My partner and I came to Massachusetts for travel, fun and a romance! Come to find out, that some of our favorites dishes came from The Mews and they weren’t even seafood dishes! My partner had the Shaking Beef dish and I had the Chicken Vindaloo with naan bread! Cocktails were also on par with the Last Word and Old Fashioned! Not to mention a truly romantic atmosphere with an ocean and beach view! Our server was Lessie, such a pleasure!
It was our first time visiting The Mews, and what a delightful visit it was! Let’s start by saying that the dining room is stunning, warm and contemporary. Our server Niyazi was extremely knowledgeable and attentive, never rushed us and always made sure that we were happy! Our cocktails were just perfect, the oysters were fresh and clean (served with a champagne mignonette that brought tears to my eyes), the artichoke cakes were divine! I got the best halibut dish I had all week and my partner got the “Melted Cabbage” which was divine! To finish our meal we had the Key Lime pie and it did NOT disappoint! Thank you to The Mews for a spectacular dining experience, we will be back next time we are in Provincetown! P.S. Thank you for being so accommodating towards my partner’s request to propose to me, surely a night I will remember for the rest of my life!
I admit I was a little nervous to return to The Mews for the first time following their recent extensive renovations. The reviews I’d read had been mixed at best, and I feared the place might have lost the magic it had maintained for so many years. Well, based on our recent visit, I’m pleased to say my fears were unfounded. We spent a WONDERFUL Friday evening dining in the downstairs (beach level) room and everything was superb. The downstairs room has retained its quiet acoustics and casual elegance. The colors and finishes have been updated, but the space will still look familiar to those who remember its earlier appearance. We were the first to arrive so I snapped a photo of the room before other guests were seated. The service was excellent- still the same high level of professionalism and courtesy as before. And most importantly, the food and drinks were exquisite. We enjoyed a very generous serving of the cabbage chili crisp salad (so flavorful), the perfectly-cooked halibut with pistachio topping, and a savory filet mignon. Cocktails were on-point as well: a seductive Black Manhattan and a bright, refreshing spirit-free “fauxhito.” Based on this experience, I’m happy to say that The Mews is still at the top of my list of fine dining venues in Provincetown. Can’t wait to return.
