Crema's Take

This Cleveland gem pulls you in with its unmistakably vibrant, vintage atmosphere where regulars and newcomers alike linger over genuinely excellent espresso drinks and buttery pastries like their standout pepperoni croissant. Folks rave about cappuccinos that rank among the best they've had in years, and the whole experience feels inviting and community-focused despite occasional slow mornings. It's the kind of place where you actually want to sit and stay awhile, even if the building runs a little chilly.

Place is a vibe. Was packed. First bite of the pepperoni croissant was immediately good. I go banana nut coffee, immediately good. I asked for a 12oz size coffee in a 16oz and fill the rest with milk. They did it. Perfect. Starbucks could never.

I absolutely loved my 1st visit to Civilization Coffee. It was inviting. Food program was efficient for ordering and delicious. Cappuccino was the best one Ive had in about 3 years. Staff and customers were so friendly. Definitely my coffee go to in Tremont

Coffee was excellent. I ordered a simple vanilla latte, hot. The caramel apple turnover, delecious! It was pretty cold in there though. Thr barrista was wearing his puffy vest and a stocking cap. Though the shop itself was an old general store or pharmacy [?], very cool bones.

Early Sunday morning at 5:30 am, I received a call from one of my nephews who was in a car accident. Thankfully he wasn’t hurt but we had to travel to Cleveland to pick him up so we ended up stopping by the nearest coffee shop. Tremont has a hidden treasure in this shop…delicious coffee, breakfast choices & bakery items as well. I enjoyed speaking a little Russian while I waited for my coffee. They had a very tasty breakfast soufflé that I really enjoyed. If I lived closer, I would be visiting often.

This is a typical Cleveland vintage coffee shop. Owners are very nice and courteous but service can be really slow especially during morning peak hours. Coffee quality is good, atmosphere is very friendly for small gatherings (3-4 people) but not for work. I tried a ham and cheese breakfast sandwich and it was ok. I personally prefer cold cut sandwiches dry and this one was a bit too greasy for my liking. Overall, it’s a good place for a quick coffee break if you’re passing by.
