The BakeShop by Three Friends Coffee
203 Racine Dr, Wilmington, NC
Crema's Take
“This Wilmington spot brilliantly merges a serious espresso program with an exceptional in-house bakery that goes well beyond typical coffee shop pastries—think sourdough cinnamon rolls and focaccia classes taught by passionate staff. Whether you're grabbing a quick latte paired with a danish or settling in for a slow afternoon, you'll find yourself in a genuinely warm, family-friendly space where the owner clearly listens to regulars and keeps raising the bar on both coffee and baked goods. The cinnamon rolls, whoopie pies, and danishes are the standouts that keep people coming back, paired with lattes that actually matter.”

This was such a great surprise! I hadn't heard of this place, and being a frequent coffee and pastry consumer figured that I should check it out. There was a large and uncommon selection of baked goods. I tried focaccia, a scone, and a croissant (still warm!) and all three were delicious. The latte I had was also excellent--not an afterthought to accompany bakery items. Go give these people money!
We went to the sour dough cinnamon roll class and had an amazing time! Kacey did an awesome job leading the class - showing us how to make the cinnamon rolls and guiding us through any questions we had. The class sizes are smaller which allows for a more lovely experience! Had a great time and I will be coming back for another class! I loved how they set up the class while we waited for our dough to raise we got to eat a cinnamon roll and omg was it delicious!! The atmosphere is cute. Not to mention I had a mix up with my tickers and they were very accommodating to fit my boyfriend into the class. Highly recommend.
I took a focaccia class and it was EXCELLENT. Casey was a great teacher and they cultivated a really fun environment. But most importantly it was TASTY!!
We have visited a few times now and have treated several of their pastries and a few of their lattes. Some of our favs are the danishes, whoopie pies and cookies. The regular cinnamon rolls were also a hit. Their coffee syrups are made in house which is so cool. They have interesting flavors and some of the “normal” ones you see at most coffee shops but you can taste the quality difference. I’m excited we have a neighborhood bakery and it taste good!
Very nice mix of bakery items. Fairly priced and GOOD. The owner cares a lot and listens to the customers on ideas. She is growing the business the right way. Coffee and latte were very good as well. They do refills on regular coffee. Many flavors to choose on the latte. The atmosphere is comfortable and they have a water glass as well. Even a deck of cards at each table :P
