Nicoletti Coffee Roasters

Crema's Take

This Brooklyn roaster is refreshingly unapologetic about their traditional approach, rejecting the third-wave light roast trend in favor of deeper, more balanced profiles that actually shine in espresso—their Old School roast with its signature robusta blend has become a go-to for everyone from home enthusiasts to nonprofit organizations. What really sets Nicoletti apart is the combination of genuinely fresh beans (roasted in-house with impeccable attention) and the warmth of their team, who treat every customer like they're part of the coffee community rather than just a transaction. Whether you're grabbing a quick cup or hunting for beans to take home, you're getting the kind of quality and personality that turns one-time visitors into devoted regulars.

Had been searching for a new roaster to buy my beans for espresso and had gotten tired of the third wave light roast craze that everyone is jumping on.I stumbled on a reddit recommending Nicoletti and when I looked up the location saw it was in Dyker Heights. My family is from the area so I figured Id stop by while visiting family. Went in yesterday to find a very old school storefront, had some Italian imports like coffee and machinette. The owner was very friendly and helpful in describing their different in house roasts, ended up picking up the 1972 and Napoli roasts. Both are amazingly well roasted and exactly what I was looking for. I am beyond happy I found this gem and somewhat annoyed I never knew it existed before. This will be my go to spot now as I am more than happy to give my business to a shop from the old neighborhood.

It’s been exactly one year since our nonprofit org started getting beans from Nicoletti to serve at our events. We couldn’t be happier. Not only do you walk out with great coffee, but with a smile, and a friendly chat. Thank you Aldo. See you soon!

Aldo was incredible and gave me the best fresh roasted coffee I’ve ever had. The Old school roast had just the right amount of robusta. Will make sure to come again! Important fact however! They do not sell coffee by the cup.

The coffee we make with the 1972 Old School roast is bar none; There is nothing that could be done to make for a better coffee. After trying beans from all over the boroughs we’ve concluded these to be the absolute best. Fantastic value for the price. Not to mention we feel extremely welcomed in the store and the owner makes an effort to get to know us. I’ll have to do better myself! Note: photo is a home made coffee using their beans. But I’m sure they’d make a better cup at the place!

I purchased and tried the 1972 Old School and Napoli espresso bean. Purchasing direct from the roaster they could not have been fresher with a roast date of 3/19, received on 3/24. Looks like I have found the beans I like for my espressos and cortados. Just good, dark smooth arabica and robust beans. I also purchased the original Espresso beans but haven't tried those yet. Can't imagine I won't enjoy those either! Priced right and ships fast. I'm a happy new customer
