Crema's Take

This Rittenhouse spot has mastered the art of making you feel genuinely welcomed—reviewers consistently rave about staff who actually care, creating that rare café atmosphere where you want to linger. Beyond their stellar espresso work, they've built a loyal following around creative signatures like their Aussie iced latte (crowned with a scoop of ice cream instead of regular milk) and a solid brunch menu with thoughtful options like smoked salmon toast and protein smoothies, though fair warning that pricing skews toward the premium end.

I stopped by the Bluestone Lane Rittenhouse Cafe recently, and I was really impressed by the warm and welcoming staff. It's the kind of place where they genuinely care about their customers—on my second visit, the barista actually remembered my name, which was such a nice personal touch that made the experience feel special. The food hit the spot perfectly. I ordered the chili egg sandwich, which was packed with flavor and had just the right amount of kick. I also got a bowl of fresh berries on the side, which was the perfect refreshing complement to the meal. If you're looking for a great breakfast or brunch spot in the neighborhood with friendly service and tasty food, this is definitely the place to check out.

I primarily think of Bluestone Lane as a coffee shop (and they have GREAT coffee - I especially love the "Aussie iced latte" (which replaces milk with a scoop of ice cream)), but I recently got brunch here and it was so good! Their avocado toast and lemon ricotta pancakes are superb, and I got this special seasonal waffle dish and I wish I could get it all year round :)

I wanted to love this place, but it felt overpriced for what it was. The food didn’t look that great either—kind of plain. Smoked salmon toast: fine, but basic. Thin salmon on soft bread with a little herb sprinkle—needed better bread and more punch (lemon, capers, something). The mocha coffee looked promising but a bit disappointing. Overall, just not special, especially at these prices. I had higher hopes. I’ll probably give it another try and order differently.

Great food, lots of sandwich options. They also have a lot of protein smoothies and drinks. Only issue I have is that prices are a bit high. My sandwich was $16.95.

The service, the croissant, and the atmosphere were all a 10. My double espresso was just perfect. Most of all the gentlemen and young lady working there were extremely nice and welcoming. Thank you for a great breakfast and experience. I highly recommend this establishment.
