Bluestone Lane Rittenhouse Café
1701 Locust St, Philadelphia, PA
Crema's Take
“This Rittenhouse spot has mastered the art of making you feel genuinely welcomed—reviewers consistently rave about staff who actually care, creating that rare café atmosphere where you want to linger. Beyond their stellar espresso work, they've built a loyal following around creative signatures like their Aussie iced latte (crowned with a scoop of ice cream instead of regular milk) and a solid brunch menu with thoughtful options like smoked salmon toast and protein smoothies, though fair warning that pricing skews toward the premium end.”
What to expect
Espresso-focused, with creative signature drinks, good cold brew. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Wifi.

I stopped by the Bluestone Lane Rittenhouse Cafe recently, and I was really impressed by the warm and welcoming staff. It's the kind of place where they genuinely care about their customers—on my second visit, the barista actually remembered my name, which was such a nice…
I primarily think of Bluestone Lane as a coffee shop (and they have GREAT coffee - I especially love the "Aussie iced latte" (which replaces milk with a scoop of ice cream)), but I recently got brunch here and it was so good! Their avocado toast and lemon ricotta pancakes are…
I wanted to love this place, but it felt overpriced for what it was. The food didn’t look that great either—kind of plain. Smoked salmon toast: fine, but basic. Thin salmon on soft bread with a little herb sprinkle—needed better bread and more punch (lemon, capers, something).…
Great food, lots of sandwich options. They also have a lot of protein smoothies and drinks. Only issue I have is that prices are a bit high. My sandwich was $16.95.
The service, the croissant, and the atmosphere were all a 10. My double espresso was just perfect. Most of all the gentlemen and young lady working there were extremely nice and welcoming. Thank you for a great breakfast and experience. I highly recommend this establishment.
