Caffe Caffe - North Hullen
3547 N, Metairie, LA
Crema's Take
“This Metaerie neighborhood spot trades pretension for genuine convenience, sitting practically on top of office buildings and winning over regulars with reliable espresso drinks and a surprisingly adventurous pastry case that swings between inspired (their Coffee Royale) and occasionally puzzling (banana bread that tastes suspiciously of cherries). The vibe is clean and service-minded, though the food can feel overpriced for what lands on your plate, making it better suited for your coffee fix than a full lunch.”

I've been to this location a number of times over the years, mostly on account of it being 10 feet from my office building, and I can say with perfect honesty and clarity that the food here is, in a word, mid. It's okay. It does nothing great, and everything alright. It's a slice of white bread with JIF peanut butter on it. It's a clean-ish motel on a road trip. It's the cheap dish you meal-prepped for the week. Atmosphere is nice. Coffee is decent. But Metairie is a section of New Orleans with many great dining options. This is not one of them.
We read great reviews and decided to get a quick lunch here. For the price, we were very underwhelmed. The Greek salad with chicken was $17, and the chicken was unseasoned. The Mac n cheese was more like Mac n milk. Very watery. Over all not impressed
Food was good, kind of dress with so much cheese. Once I added jelly it was great! Coffee Royale was good. First time trying Hot Chocolate and Espresso. I didn't really understand order system, but they let me know it was ready.
Great service. Very clean. Coffee was fine. Bread not made in house. 4/10-vanilla custard croissant 2/10- LOVE banana bread but this tasted like cherries!? 3/10-Sugar free caramel latte ,tasted weird like a bitter after taste(&I get sugar free coffees everywhere) definitely never again. Me 4/10-avocado wrap; it was pretty bland. 8/10-black bean soup with rice was flavorful & came with sour cream with chives on the side. Her Sandwich overall gets 5/10. Not horrible. But wouldn't order again. Bread 9/10 Egg salad 6/10 -points for extra mayo on egg salad -points for not enough lettuce
I was craving a sandwich for lunch and was surprisingly disappointed.. I got a turkey BLT w chips and a drink. $17 plus 20% tip. For $17 I would expect the lunch to be something to enjoy. It was bland. I sat there sadly eating my sandwich and reviewed the receipt. 3.25 for a drink, alright. But another .50 just to make it a combo. This being my second unimpressed experience at this place, I had to ask someone else what they thought was the best on the menu. They suggested the cheesecake. Everyone I experienced, staff and patrons alike were very nice. The sandwich combo is simply not worth it.
