Cajé Coffee Roasters
811A State St, Santa Barbara, CA
Crema's Take
“Cajé Coffee Roasters has carved out a reputation for creative specialty drinks, particularly their standout rose matcha that's earned genuine fan appreciation—though consistency seems to be a work in progress. The Santa Barbara spot prioritizes quick, espresso-focused service in a beautifully designed space that's better suited for grabbing and going than lingering, and while their signature creations can shine, they're best experienced when the team is fully dialed in.”

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this coffee place. The cashier was friendly but completely ignored our orders because she was too busy gossiping with her coworkers. The barista was rude and rushed us, making mistakes with our drinks. My sister even ended up getting the wrong order and had a reaction because of it. I feel like they treated us poorly because of our race. I will not be returning to this place and I urge others to think twice before giving them their business. #poorservice #racism #dontrecommend
One of the best rose matcha i’ve tried! And pay attention to the design, definitely worth noticing.
We decided to check this coffee place out since we kept seeing it on social media. The place is nice in a beautiful location. We were disappointed with our order. The drinks tasted like almond milk with ice. We could barely taste the coffee at all. Couldn’t understand what the hype was all about. We decided to give it a second chance and still disappointed.
Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) Environment ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Very limited seating, so it’s not really a place to sit and stay. More of a quick stop. Coffee ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ • Rose Matcha ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ nothing special Service ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Wait time was around 20 minutes, which felt a bit long for what it was. Will I come back? Maybe—if there’s no line.
Here’s the reason for three stars: We ordered a lox and cream cheese bagel for a quick bite before we left Santa Barbara for home. Lox and cream cheese is a delicious classic bagel BUT this was neither classic nor delicious. First off, there was hardly any lox as you can see from my photo, and on my half I found one tiny piece of red onion. Beyond that and what ruined everything, is they put barbecue sauce on it. Salty fishy lox does not go well with any type of barbecue sauce, it was pretty gross. It was pricey at $14 but it’s Santa Barbara. That said, I definitely expected for there to be more lox. On a final positive note, the actual bagel was very tasty!
