Vacationland Coffee Roasters
11 Apple Ln, Bar Harbor, ME
Crema's Take
“Overlooking Bar Harbor's docks, this roastery pairs genuinely excellent espresso and pour-overs with breakfast sandwiches made from uncommonly high-quality ingredients—the kind of place where your barista remembers you the next day and actually has time to chat. It's the rare coffee shop that wins over self-described snobs and families alike, with a warmth that feels earned rather than forced, making it the kind of gem worth the walk from your vacation cottage.”

Wow. Best breakfast sandwich I ever had. I got the sausage egg and cheese on ciabatta and my wife got bacon egg and cheese + avocado on a bagel. Seriously high quality ingredients and made with love. 100% homemade vibes. And you can't beat the view. A big deck, some picnic tables, benches, and corn hole overlooking the marina.
This is a great spot, overlooking the docks for a beautiful view, & the staff is super friendly. Our barista was hilarious, didn’t make us feel rushed, & even remembered us the next day when we stopped by again (yes, it’s that good). The breakfast tacos are a flavorful respite from the mild seafood fare you’ll find mostly everywhere else. There wasn’t an extensive tea selection (just packets as far as I saw) & we hadn’t had lunch there, but for a morning run it checks all the boxes. Highly recommend!!
My wife and I we vacationing in Maine for the first time! We stayed in a little Cottage about a 5-minute walk away from Vacationland Coffee Roasters and decided to try it. What a Gem this place is! Out of all the many places we dined at this was by far our favorite place! The breakfast and lunch sandwiches are amazing! You have a perfect view of the water right in front of you! They've got great music and occasional live music! Their staff is super laid back and friendly! They have great food and drink prices as well! We recommend this place to anyone looking to have a great time and enjoy great food at a reasonable price! Thanks again for taking care of us!
Can we give 300 stars? Because y'all. I can't promise the owners/staff will be this friendly and accommodating on every single visit (who can be that nice every day??) but based on my experience and the other reviews it certainly seems possible. The chef built an entire sandwich around my weird food allergy....and then it was the best sandwich I've literally ever had. The coffee + cocktails combo is pure genius. And the food is out of this world. After that sandwich for lunch, we came back for dinner with the whole family and tried half the menu. It was all stellar. Plus there was live music on the back deck which looks directly out onto the harbor. I just don't see life getting much better. I wish we lived closer. We may build retirement plans around this restaurant...
I am somewhat of a coffee snob. I tried all 6+ places to get coffee around Southwest and Northeast Harbor, while here on the island for vacation from out of town. Vacationland was the best. The Americano I got had a rich, fresh, complex body at the perfect temperature. The breakfast food was delicious. The vibe of the place was fun, with a great location right on the dock of the bay.
