Andy’s NY Bagel Cafe & Deli
7500 Ramble Way, Raleigh, NC
Crema's Take
“Andy's NY Bagel Cafe & Deli brings an unpretentious New York breakfast experience to Raleigh, where the owner-operated charm and fresh ingredients shine through despite occasional service inconsistencies. It's the kind of place where a former New Yorker can grab an authentically crafted bagel sandwich and feel a genuine connection with the staff, making it perfect for a casual morning meeting or family breakfast without pretension. The kitchen seems to operate with creative freedom—sometimes delightfully so, sometimes requiring a gentle redirect—but the heart of the operation clearly cares about putting quality ingredients on your plate.”

If you want a breakfast that is up for interpretation this is your place. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an egg bagel with bacon and cheddar cheese. They substituted bacon for turkey bacon, put American cheese instead of cheddar, and put ketchup on the bagel inside the sandwich. The bagel was unfortunately dry as well. On top of that they gave me French fries cut up into pieces with a sprinkle of onions and peppers as home fries. It was honestly not a great experience for eating and I will not be returning. I do think it’s falling on the lines of dishonest by replacing key ingredients.
I went in hoping to enjoy a bagel but left feeling disappointed. When I paid with cash, the young employee handled the money and then touched my bagel with the same gloves. I politely asked her to change her gloves and get a new bagel, but there was no apology and her attitude was noticeably stand-offish. It’s a shame because the sun-dried tomato bagel with butter was good. Overall, the experience felt unfriendly and unsanitary. I would not recommend this place due to their lack of basic food safety and customer service.
I was shopping with my daughter nearby and saw this place. As a former New Yorker, if I see the words NY and Bagel, I always try it. The gentleman At the register was very nice. We talked about Lebanon, New York, and he was super helpful helping my daughter who is gluten-free with identifying options. He raved about their falafel So she decided she would give it a try. This is her first falafel and she absolutely loved it! she got chicken kebab, rice, and hummus as well. She ate everything. The falafel was crispy and light, cooked perfectly. I had an egg sandwich on a bagel, and while this is definitely not your traditional New York BEC spot, the other food we had was amazing. Outside of the food, we were treated so nicely. The guy even gave us a discount because he wanted my daughter to try several things. At one point, I was coughing at the table because my food went down the wrong pipe and the guy came over with a bottle of water and told me it was on him. Good food, better people.
Absolutely incredible! the freshest ingredients and the nicest owner operated family restaurant. The the variety of choices gives everyone what they want. My son said these are the best wings he’s ever had and my wife said the salad she had was the best she’s ever had from any restaurant ever and requested that I bring her back at least twice a week. I’ve tried 3 different items on the menu and everything is just phenomenal in taste and value. The smoothies are delicious too! So many organic ingredients even the lemon for my water was better than other lemons I don’t know how to explain that but this place is unbelievable!
Ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel with hime fries to go. After paying, I told the cashier I was going to step out to the gas station and come back when it was ready. Upon my return I had found they had given my order to someone else and he had started to eat it! I know its not their fault he started to eat it but if they would have handed out the order correctly it wouldn't have happened. They offered to make the order again which was nice but the bagel came out soggy and cut very poorly. They remade my home fries and gave me French fries instead. I didn't ask them to make it a third time because I had already wasted 30 minutes of my life at this establishment. Skip this place and go to Courtney's in Wake Forest or the original NY Bagel off Falls of Nuese. Much better service and food available.
