Crema's Take

This beautiful Black-owned Baltimore gem has mastered the art of intentional hospitality, creating an intimate space where every detail—from the thoughtfully curated music to the attentive staff—invites you to slow down and breathe. Their matcha program is genuinely exceptional, with creative signatures like a standout gingerbread version that converts even matcha skeptics into regulars. Equitea feels rooted in craft and community rather than trend, offering the kind of experience that stays with you long after you leave.

I’m from Indiana but my brother and sister in law brought me here on Sunday because they know how much I love matcha. Let me tell you I will be thinking about this place every time I drink it from now on, and not just because it was smooth, nuanced and perfectly balanced beverage with excellent presentation (not to mention the delicious madeleine pastry!) One of the things I love about matcha is the ritual in making it, how it forces you to slow down and appreciate the elements of the drink as it comes together. That’s what the whole space feels like. The music, the design, the plants, even the feeling in the air is a slow down appreciation of what matters. I felt centered and present, which is rare to find outside of your own home these days. I can’t wait to come back on my next trip to Baltimore! I hope this place continues to thrive!

Equitea is the kind of place that makes you exhale the second you walk in. It’s a beautiful Black-owned gem in Baltimore, rooted in craft, culture, and community. Every detail feels intentional, from the calm, modern space to the way each drink is prepared with real care, no shortcuts. The matcha is smooth, balanced, and genuinely elevated, and the service is warm in that “we’re glad you’re here” way. Equitea isn’t just somewhere to grab a drink, it’s a pause button for your day and a spot worth supporting on purpose. Highly recommend, and I’ll be back often with friends.

Stellar people and a thoughtful addition to the local beverage scene. Equitea has brought a meaningful approach to the matcha and cafe experience. I can't wait to see how this brand grows. Beautiful and comfortable space. Check out the vinyl listening station.

Quentin’s got a great thing going. The atmosphere is very lovely and so is the matcha. The gingerbread one was crazy good and full of spice. I’m not even normally a matcha person but I’m an Equitea person now!
