Common Grounds
602 S Elam Ave, Greensboro, NC
Crema's Take
“Common Grounds feels like a creative third space where quirky charm meets genuine hospitality—they've nailed the vibe with vintage arcade games, rustic decor, and staff who actually care. Their signature drinks like the "Robert Downey Jr" (dark chocolate, caramel, sea salt latte) and "Marlon Brando" prove they take playful naming as seriously as they take quality coffee, pairing perfectly with fresh pastries while you settle in for hours of work or conversation. Just double-check their closing time before you head over, but once you're there, you'll understand why regulars rave about the genuine atmosphere of acceptance that defines this spot.”
What to expect
Specialty coffee, with creative signature drinks. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly spot, good for meetings. Pastries on the menu.

Please fix your hours online to reflect your actual store hours. It has said multiple times that this location closes at 10:00pm yet the person managing the store always closes around 9:00pm. This has been an ongoing issue. Thank you.

Common Grounds is a cool, divey place where you can relax and play some games. The decorum is definitely on the more rustic/vintage side. They have some retro coin slot arcade games (coins not included), a pool table, an old piano, and a chess board. There’s many things you can…
Unfortunately, the coffee was very sub-par. I got the "Brad Pitt" iced. Not blended well and very watery. I really would have had a better cup at Starbucks, and I'm not a Starbucks fan. I loved the atmosphere. A quirky mismatch of lounge furniture. Cool alternative kids and a…
