Crema's Take

This riverside burger spot in Manitou Springs excels at creating a relaxed gathering place with standout appetizers like their Monte Cristo egg rolls and generously-portioned burgers that draw families and groups back again and again. The real draw is the outdoor seating along the river, which locals praise as a perfect escape for lingering over a meal without feeling rushed, even when you arrive close to closing time. The warm, attentive service combined with the natural setting makes it feel less like a casual burger joint and more like a destination worth the trip.

We really enjoyed our visit to Border Burger Bar in Colorado Springs. The atmosphere is great, and the outdoor seating along the river is especially nice — a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The food itself was very good, and we had no complaints at all about quality or flavor. They also offer some nice specials, which is always a plus. That said, we stopped in on New Year’s Day and found it a bit odd that they were “out of everything” except chili, which meant we couldn’t order any of the items that were on special but chili. Fortunately, the chili was very good, so it worked out — but it was still a surprising limitation for such a popular spot. Overall, it’s a nice place with a great setting, good food, and a fun vibe. I would absolutely recommend it and would happily go back again.

We decided to eat here on a whim and we were not disappointed! Our waiter was great and the outside atmosphere was fantastic! Not a long wait for such amazing food! We got the beaded mushrooms, Canyon balls and a burger to split! I have never had a burger delivered to the table that looked EXACTLY like the picture in the menu! Delicious!

Great place for a burger in Manitou Springs. We started with the Monte Cristo egg rolls - they were exceptional. Both of our burgers were too big for us to finish, but we did our best. I had the mushroom Swiss burger on a ciabatta bun. The mushrooms and cheese overwhelmed the hamburger patty - that's a good thing. My wife had the Colorodoan Hatch Green Chile Burger and was disappointed in only that she couldn't finish the burger. The flavors blended so well and overwhelmed the hamburger patty (like mine) - again, this is a good thing. Get the onion rings with the spicy aioli - you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be back when we're in Manitou Springs. Cool town!

Stopped in on Father's Day for lunch with my hubby, our 9yr old son, adult daughter, her husband and our grandson. I got a salad, it was a large portion, although the lettuce itself had an odd taste like it needed to be rinsed better? Kind of a chemical taste which was completely unappetizing. The chicken was good. It was definitely NOT worth $18 though by NO means, not even close. Our server was very nice & on top of things. Hubby's polish sausage looked like something I could make at home & would be better tasting. My daughter got the club sandwich and it looked good & the fries were decent flavored, but very limp and soggy. My son-in-law got the smallest toughest cooked lobster roll I've ever seen & it was $19. It's way overpriced for the quality. It definitely needs more healthy options besides just a few salads.

Despite other bad reviews, this was a fun experience for the entire group. We went about half an hour before they closed and were still treated well. Seated immediately and our waiter was very patient as we decided what to order. The Miami is an excellent choice (the queso and egg were amazing) and everything was cooked well. The manager seemed friendly and checked on the tables and the staff was always asking us if we needed anything or refills. Overall a fun experience, would recommend trying this restaurant.
