Ascension Coffee - White Rock

Made our way to this place for the first time to meet with an old friend. Right from the start this place was impressive. We were greeted at the door by a friendly hostess. The manager Cristal was 2nd to say hello and directed me to the restroom. Very clean !! We sat at the table and the waitress came by almost immediately. This place was busy but luckily we got to sit on the patio. We let the waitress know it was our first time and she explained the menu very well. Our dishes were fantastic. They came out in a timely manner, and the manager came by one more time to say goodbye. What a great experience. I recommend this to anyone that wants breakfast and coffee.. oh I forgot about that ask for Doki, Doki !!

Lovely place! Savana and the host are amazing people. The avocado toast, breakfast pastry sandwiches, and doki doki special drip coffee made this a memorable place to stop on our trip from Austin. I appreciate how they had options like lavender for my matcha. I love the design of the place too! It felt like a modern upscale train station from a fancy movie set. It’s a perfect find. I had a really good experience. We went there for breakfast, and the atmosphere of the café was so calm and elegant. Although there was a lot of crowd at the time, the service was very fast. The food was also delicious. I can recommend this place to everyone!

This restaurant is cute and popular with a long line to get in for Saturday brunch. It has a diner-type vibe but still slightly upscale and trendy. The service was good despite it being busy. I got the sunrise bowl with coconut yogurt and it was good but small portion for the price. The turmeric latte (regular) size was generous. They seem to have a very extensive drink and coffee menu. Not the most vegetarian or vegan-friendly place but they have some options. I suppose this is Texas, after all, so that’s to be expected.

From the outside, Ascension Coffee – White Rock looks sleek, almost too polished, but stepping inside reveals a completely different experience: bright, spotless, and welcoming, with vaulted ceilings and modern communal seating that makes the space both stylish and functional. The Earl Grey Tea Loaf is moist with a subtle glaze — simple, elegant, and well-balanced with the tea’s fragrance. The Apple Galette is flaky and golden, apples holding their texture in a rustic but refined presentation. The Chocolate Croissant shows careful lamination, crisp layers, and a restrained chocolate filling that leans sophisticated rather than overly sweet. Drinks hold the same standard: the latte is smooth and balanced with artful milk texture, while the iced matcha latte is bright, clean, and free from bitterness. Beyond food and drinks, details stand out — chilled bottled water from the fridge offered as courtesy, staff who prepare drinks with care, and a space that feels safe for casual dates, versatile for laptop work, and comfortable enough for family or playdate visits. Despite its polished design, prices remain reasonable, making Ascension feel accessible without losing its sophistication. The overall impression is of a café that values detail and presentation, where both atmosphere and quality exceed what you expect from the outside.
