Crema's Take

I'd approach this one carefully: the reviews paint a pretty clear picture that Herb N' Kitchen is struggling. It's positioned as a grab-and-go café within what sounds like a supermarket setting, but the consistent feedback suggests the food is microwaved, the atmosphere feels institutional and dated, and the service has been notably unwelcoming. If you're looking for specialty coffee and a genuine café experience in Hartford, this probably isn't your spot—it reads more like a convenience grab than a destination worth the trip.

This is NOT a restaurant. It’s a microwave section of the supermarket. All the food will just be heated up for you.

It’s clean, items are promptly displayed, service is professional, the atmosphere is missing something HUGE… still giving off upscale school/hospital lunchroom- needs a more update VIBE. Overprice $$$

Came early for the UCONN woman’s game Feb 2nd 2025. This is absolutely the WORST Restaurant in the history of restaurants. What a rip off. Omelettes were microwave frozen with frozen hash browns. No toast offered. $35 !!!. For the worst I’ve ever seen and barely edible They don’t bother to ask how your food was. They know it’s crap!!! Do not order from the menu. Sitting here now while writing this.

This spot is more of a grab-and-go style restaurant with a limited menu. Options include salads, chicken wings, chicken tenders, a double hamburger, various pizzas, and quesadillas—no sides or extra accompaniments. While it’s a decent choice if you’re just looking for a drink and a quick bite, it’s not ideal for a full dinner after a long day. The lack of side options, like fries or vegetables, was disappointing, especially since there’s no room service available either. When booking a hotel, I always appreciate having a well-rounded restaurant on-site, so finding only minimal options here was a letdown. As a guest in a new city, I’d prefer not to have to leave the hotel for a complete meal. Service was friendly, and the chicken tenders were served hot, but the overall experience fell short due to the limited menu.

First of all, I walked into the restaurant was not welcomed. I was stared at as if I didn’t belong. I looked at the menu and told the waitress what I wanted and her response was “what” and not excuse me.(my parents taught me to never use the word. What if I didn’t understand someone it’s always excuse me. Ordering a cheese quesadilla, she proceeded to place it in the toaster oven, then take it out and plop it into plastic container without using any gloves. After paying for item and I was leaving, I asked her her name. She had the audacity to ask me “why”, I told her “because like to address people their names in customer service.” She finally told me that her name is Donna and I said thank you and left. The past I have worked in customer service and took pride in respect, and this lady had none whatsoever. I promise you I will never return to this establishment again nor will I advise others to. I personally know food critics, and will inform them of my experience or lack of. When I receive positive customer service, I will go above and beyond to let management know and when I don’t , well this is what’s presented
