Crema's Take
“Pan'e Dolci brings authentic Italian pastries and creamy gelato to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea with solid espresso drinks that pair perfectly with their standout almond croissants and shareable slices of cheesecake. The atmosphere caters to leisurely afternoons and casual meetups, though it's worth noting the music can be loud and the service varies depending on who's behind the counter. If you're seeking traditional Italian sweets and well-executed coffee in a relaxed setting, this spot delivers—just manage expectations on portion sizes and come prepared for a lively vibe.”

The music was so loud as it was so hard to hear the cashier. The music playing was so inappropriate as well, so it is not family friendly. I was simply asking if there was almond or oat milk. The cashier lady couldn’t even hear my question nor could I hear her response. I believe I was charged for a latte or cappuccino as there was no way a regular black coffee cost around 8 dollars. No prices to even verify the cost of items. It’s a shame the service was so poor.
Asked if they have egg free ice-cream, the owner was rude and said to go get sorbet thay is all fruit then. Super rude and not willing to listen. Asked a sales person and explained her that I am asking just because my both kids have egg allergies and wanted chocolate ice cream. Absolutely DO NOT recommend. This owner does not deserve business, if he is not willing to be pleasant and provide good hospitality. The female sales person was truly nice and full of understanding.
We went just for desert! It was amazing! Highly recommended! They serve Italian sandwiches and gelato as well.
The food was very good. We tried the cheesecake which was 9.75 for a large slice & is shareable. The coffee (we had an expresso & a cappuccino) was very good. The almond croissant was delicious. The service attendant was not friendly - She was sort of snooty. Not personable at all. We asked her for 2 cups of water & she said we had to buy it. No problem. But I had no idea she was gonna charge nearly 6.00 per water. They have NO PRICES listed anywhere & I asked for a menu…she said no.
I’ve had my fair share of gelato and Italian pastries, and this place didn’t really impress me. The gelato was a bit pricey for a small serving, and you couldn’t even split it between two flavors. I tried the pistachio flavor, and it was okay, but nothing special. I also got the almond croissant, bomboloni cream (Nutella), and a Sfoglliatelle (large). None of them really stood out to me. To note, there were no prices on anything.
