Crema's Take

Tucked into Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, this beloved Sedona spot feels like discovering a secret hideaway with its lush garden patio and genuinely warm, family-like service that keeps people coming back. They take pride in making everything fresh—from house-made pastries and creative specialty drinks to their surprisingly excellent veggie burgers—while championing local vendors over chain brands, creating a place that's equally welcoming for a leisurely solo coffee, a dog-friendly brunch with friends, or a peaceful afternoon surrounded by flowers.

Tucked away at the entrance of Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, the Secret Garden Cafe is a must-visit. We enjoyed a relaxed lunch in their back garden, surrounded by flowers and the occasional hummingbird. The menu offers fantastic vegetarian variety; the veggie burger was hearty, and the Mediterranean Caprese sandwich was fresh and flavorful. We paired it all with a crisp, locally brewed pilsner. Whether you sit inside or out, the ambiance is unmatched. Truly a peaceful escape in the heart of Sedona!

My second time coming here while visiting Sedona, and I absolutely love it! The secret garden vibe is so fun and serene. I’ve sat on the back patio before, and this time at the coffee bar, which is first come, first serve, just an FYI if there’s a wait. The breakfast menu is fairly simple but still delicious, healthy, not greasy, and it leaves you feeling good. If you sit at the bar, the baristas are also your servers, and they can get pretty busy, which is good to keep in mind, but the service was still great. I haven’t had the chance to try lunch or dinner yet, but breakfast and coffee are lovely. I believe they stop serving pancakes and French toast after 11, if I remember correctly. We went on a Sunday and it was very busy, but everything moved quickly and smoothly.

Good waitstaff service seems like it’s getting harder to find these days…but at this place it feels a big happy family is happy to serve you. We got a caramel latte and pumpkin latte, breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros both with potatoes. Everything was out of this world. We had no room for desert but the case was so tempting with tall NY cheesecake, chocolate cake, key lime pie, pecan pie, orange cake and gluten free cheesecake that we decided to hike 5 miles and come back for cake and coffee :). We live in Wisconsin and drive 1.5 hours to the airport, fly 3 hours to Phoenix and then drive 2 hours to Sedona and we know Sedona has other places for breakfast but this place is so good with such great staff that we always come here! They have indoor seating, outdoor seating and even a grass turf outside. You feel like a king and queen the way you are treated here. I just wish we had a place like this in Wisconsin. I highly recommend the secret garden!

Everything here is prepared fresh from the rolls to salad dressings and veggie burgers. One of the best veggie burgers. Busy place but wait time not so bad. Full bar service. Nice seating on the patio. Only downside: One unisex bathroom. Constant line to use it, they need to add another. Overall, nice cafe for lunch and everything fresh.

Secret Garden Café is a cute spot tucked away in Tlaquepaque with charming decor and a cozy atmosphere. I really like that they support local companies — you won’t find the big-name beverage brands here, which adds to the local feel. We ordered a mix of dishes: corn chowder, huevos rancheros, the famous quiche, and a breakfast burrito. The food was good — classic breakfast fare that starts the day off right. Nothing spectacular, but that’s perfectly fine; it’s just solid, well-made breakfast. I also appreciated the potato variety served as the side, which was a nice touch and added some personality to the meal. Overall, a pleasant stop for breakfast or brunch — cozy, thoughtful, and relaxed, even if not particularly memorable.
