Micro Dose Drive Thru
1914 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA
Crema's Take
“This tiny Costa Mesa drive-thru punches above its weight with consistently excellent espresso drinks and surprisingly quality matcha, earning genuine love from regulars who appreciate a genuine alternative to chain coffee shops. The friendly, chatty staff and solid food options like their signature popper bagels make it worth the occasional wait, though the cramped space means lines are pretty much guaranteed during peak times. Fair warning: their edgy advertising might raise eyebrows, but the quality coffee and banana walnut bread suggest the irreverent personality is part of the charm.”

Not a fan of the profanity on advertising but that shouldn't stop you from getting a good quality coffee and a slice of banana walnut bread. I was put off from going for a quick caffeine boost there for some time, since I'ma guy and it feels weird going going to order form a pink building. Not that it matters in this day and age but I went into to get a vanilla latte and a banana walnut bread slice. Latte was delicious and creamy.. it was a good viscosity and balanced well with vanilla. The banana walnut bread is my favorite. It's a good size and it tastes like real banana and bitting into those walnuts remind me of my mom's banana bread back in the day. It's worth the stop. I usually just park at the gas station next to it and walk over to the window to order, usually there's a long line and it can stick out into the busy street that leads to the fwy.
Not bad. But very long. The girls are sociable, but they delay other customers.
I love microdose, their drinks are.always in point. The food is yummy, I recommend the popper bagel. Also, the staff is so friendly and helpful. Since its a tiny drive through, there is always a line during peak times but I promise its worth it.
I never leave reviews but the city needs to get involved with this deadly intersection. Passing through the intersection I suddenly found myself swerving to save my life to avoid a serious accident because of a massive pileup in front of the freeway entrance where this coffee shop forms a line. I don't know how this is legal and how no one has stepped in to rezone this area. The coffee shop needs to be forced to move or completely reconstruct the parking lot to accommodate the massive amount of cars. This is going to kill someone. It's raining outside today and this almost cost me my life. There is no way to try and swerve around the congestion because it's right at the other side of an intersection. Please put public safety before profit
It’s so hard to find quick coffee spots that aren’t just Starbucks or drive thru so I really appreciate this place. Their coffee and matcha are both really good quality. Personally I like my matcha stronger so I’d just recommend asking for an extra scoop if you’re the same. Super convenient and a solid go to if you’re in Newport. :) also I love how cute and girly it is too
