KIT Coffee
2010 Main St Suite 160, Newport Beach, CA
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside Newport Beach's library, KIT Coffee nails that rare combination of serious espresso craftsmanship and genuinely relaxed vibes, with plenty of outdoor seating that's perfect for working or lingering over a cortado. The bagels here are genuinely excellent—locals rave about the texture and balanced flavor—making it easy to understand why people drive an hour just to grab breakfast and a perfectly pulled shot. The whole setup feels intentional and unhurried, striking that sweet spot between specialty coffee destination and community third space.”

Officially my new favorite coffee shop in OC!! The vibes are 10/10. There is outdoor and indoor seating that is so chill. Sitting outdoors I was able to work and take work calls which is always a plus. I tried the Moby Dill and Secret Gardens bagel and also officially my favorite bagels in OC. Tons of parking as well which is so nice. Of course as always at any KIT location, my horchata matcha was a 10/10.
On April 27, 2026, I drove approximately 60 miles from the Inland Empire to visit this coffee shop after reading positive reviews and seeing its beautiful location inside the library. We arrived shortly before 3:00 PM and waited in line to review the menu and place an order. The customer ahead of us took some time, and by the time it was our turn, it was just after 3:00 PM. At that point, we were informed that the shop was closed. I completely understand and respect that businesses have posted operating hours. However, since we were already inside and waiting in line before closing time, I believe the situation could have been handled with clearer communication and greater professionalism. For example, a staff member could have informed customers in line before closing that no additional orders would be accepted after 3:00 PM. Unfortunately, the interaction felt impersonal and disappointing. My concern is not about the quality of the coffee, as we did not have the opportunity to try it. Rather, it is about the customer service experience and the lack of clear communication during closing time. After making a long drive specifically to visit this location, the experience was discouraging. I hope management will take this feedback constructively and consider improving the closing-time process for customers who are already waiting in line. A more proactive and courteous approach would make a meaningful difference.
We had a really tasty bagel breakfast sandwich. The texture of the bagel was nice and the sandwich fillings were excellent. It had a nice balance of savory and sweet. We also ordered a latte and cortado, both were great. The location is really nice and we enjoyed the outdoor seating. The outdoor space is lovely to walk around and explore. This cafe is located in the library which also gave us an opportunity to explore this amazing library. We will definitely be going back and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good coffee/food in a relaxed setting
sooo yummy. the bagels and espresso are top tier!! very cute and aesthetically fit for the location.
