Perfect little brunch place. Have to go early or you’ll wait a while. But it’s worth it. First time going and won’t be my last. The home fries were amazing!!!! Hot honey tenders over biscuits and gravy!!!!!! Amazing. I’m not a fan of b&g but they changed my mind. Owner walked around and asked if everything was good with everyone.

Service was great, atmosphere was adorable. The chicken and waffles were delicious and hit every note they were going for. The brisket hash has needed a little improvement. The brisket itself was a little on the bland side, the onions were a bit undercooked, and the potatoes were very soft and didn't have a lot of texture going on. The salsa was delicious though, perfectly seasoned.

The Blockhouse is a local gem! We definitely will be returning. We had brunch here recently on a Sunday around 12:30. Despite it being packed, the food and service turnaround time were surprisingly quick. The system the front and back house have in place create the perfect balance between fresh food and efficient service. When you arrive, you must order before being able to seat yourself. We found a table relatively quickly after we ordered though as there is seating both outdoor and indoor. One thing we also noticed, although we had a dedicated staff member servicing our table, every employee that walked by our table checked in and made us feel at home. I had the hot honey chicken and biscuits with gravy. The rest of our table enjoyed an omelette, classic breakfast, and the jalapeño chicken and waffles. Everything was exceptionally made! Highly recommend paying them a visit.

Stopped at the Blockhouse just east of San Antonio off 1604 on the way to a basketball tournament. The parking lot was full and the line long but moved relatively quickly. We got the jalapeño chicken and waffles and the brisket hash—both were very good and hearty. The restaurant also had a full coffee and bakery menu with seasonal drinks available.

We had the pulled pork burger and the steak sandwich, and the pumpkin cream chai latte, and a fruit tart and Dubai chocolate brownie. This is the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had, loved the blackberry hot sauce- fruity and sweet and spicy. My husband didn't enjoy his steak sandwich much, thought the chunks were too thick but the flavors were OK- his loss I thought the chai was sweeter than my preference, but the flavors were well balanced otherwise. I loved the tart but the brownie was too rich for my taste. The staff were top notch, constantly checking on us and keeping the tables clean and clear. The place was decorated nicely, the patio area out back was great, good place for families with kids or adults to hang out. Games like corn hole, connect 4, big jenga and other fun stuff. Going back soon
