Sleeper Coffee
1 12th St Suite 101, Astoria, OR
Crema's Take
“Sleeper Coffee is a waterfront gem in Astoria where thoughtful espresso drinks like their Supreme mocha and house-made syrups (cardamom, anyone?) meet a genuinely peaceful atmosphere—perfect whether you're settling in for hours with your laptop or meeting a friend. The space feels lived-in and welcoming, with potted plants dotting the room and big windows framing water views, while the owner's homemade pastries, like their olive oil marmalade loaf, show real care for the craft beyond just coffee. It's the kind of place that inspires loyalty: writers come to finish their books, locals return for the cardamom London fog, and everyone seems to appreciate that someone actually put thought into every detail.”

I ordered a Supreme mocha and it was so good! The shop has tons of cute plants for sale and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The views of the water are amazing and definitely eorth it. IIve gone here before and I will say go early! This place gets super packed so if you are particular about sitting or getting the view dont come late in the morning. I will definitely be returning!
What a wonderful hidden gem in Astoria! We ordered a couple of London fogs with cardamom syrup and a slice of the heavenly olive oil marmalade loaf. Their house made cardamom syrup was delicious, and I will dream of that cake till our next trip to Astoria! We also bought a couple of bags of coffee, and they tasted great when we finally brewed some at home. Some of my favorite things about the cafe are the views of the river and the genuine warmth of the baristas.
Although I didn’t have food or drink this evening, the servers behind the bar were very friendly and helpful. Writers met in the adjoining large room and it was cozy and comfortable, with glass windows and a view of the river. A great venue for any type of meeting. There were plenty of chairs and tables to feel comfortable. I’ll definitely be back for a drink!
Views epic. I know another post on here talked about sustainability but looks like they are doing their best at it. The employee had amazing customer service and asked us if we were going to stay or go and the option between. Many of the people here had “for here mugs” warm chill atmosphere. The view was amazing we had a great time quietly talking and then we read. We got the black mango iced tea!!! It has no sugar and tasted perfect without it. I highly recommend. The greenery and Godzilla was my favorite vibe.
I absolutely love this place and am indebted to them for letting me have a nice, quiet, peaceful place to allow me to focus on writing my book. Plus the owner really does know how to bake some delicious pastries. Siskel and Ebert would give them two thumbs way up and so do I.
