CAFE NIDO: Coffee & Books
4854 Fountain Ave, Los Angeles, CA
Crema's Take
“Cafe Nido is a verdant escape tucked into Los Angeles, where lush greenery and artsy decor create an unexpectedly peaceful vibe perfect for lingering over coffee and a book. The patio is the real star here—reviewers consistently rave about soaking up sun among the trees and plants—though the food and drinks can be a bit hit-or-miss (goat cheese croissants seem to be the winner, matcha lattes less so). It's genuinely laptop-friendly and welcoming for groups, with helpful parking nearby, though a heads-up: the bathrooms need some love, and your coffee might arrive lukewarm.”

I got the pesto chicken sandwich & “buttered croissant “that’s supposed to be on baguette bread. Bread was dry & hard. They toast the baguette which makes it hard. The actual bread has no flavor. I wouldn’t call it a baguette. The sandwich is actually on the smaller side ( I genuinely thought it was going to be a full sized sandwich , which ok whatever) The pesto has no flavor. Really just there for decoration. I don’t know why bell peppers are in a pesto sandwich. The actual chicken is shredded ( who knows why) no flavor but I thought it was going to be shredded. The croissant was better but not good and below “mid”. It’s less than a Costco croissant. Borderline tastes almost frozen. No flavor for flakiness and no “buttery” but hey at least it wasn’t hard. Service was ok. No one was rude or anything but it definitely feels like they are there passin the time. And no one was paying attention so one guy was just waiting in where you are supposed to order and holding the line up. Actual ambiance is nice and relaxing. I am not leaving this as a way to be rude but as a way to give feedback to improve. I would suggest the manager/ owner send in someone and do random tastings / visits to see how it is. I hope to see an improvement as supporting small businesses is important! Much love ,
It’s a nice spot to hangout. My friends and I came here after a hike and we all got drinks. It was decent but we stayed because of the patio and played some games. Friendly staff & very clean. Parking was hard to find on a Saturday morning though
The goat cheese croissant was good. But the best part of the scenery. I love being in green spaces. There was plenty of seating when I went but it soon filled up. The only thing that I didn’t like was the country music it didn’t go with the tropical vibes. But I just put on headphones and relaxed.
The food was great - the goat and cheese croissant was really good, I just wish it was a bit hotter! The vibes are super cute here and it’s a breath of fresh air There’s so many trees and plants and lots of seating options. Just not a lot of outlets!! Very cute for pictures and events!
Very beautiful and artsy decor! Cool crowds and vibes there. I enjoy getting some sun there in the afternoon. But my matcha latte was $9.50 LOL -1⭐️ because the toilet was dirty, tiny and so smelly.
