Crema's Take
“Hahdough is a German bakery that takes its craft seriously, earning consistent praise for standout pastries like their bee sting cake (with impossibly light cream) and poppy seed rolls that transport visitors straight to Berlin. While prices run high and some savory items miss the mark, the genuine quality of their baked goods—especially the traditional German selections—makes it worth a visit for anyone craving authentic European pastry in San Francisco. It's a quick, family-friendly spot where the hardest part of your visit will be choosing just one dessert.”

My cheese pretzel was tasty except the cheese they used didn’t add any value to it. I do agree this place is overpriced. I paid for a cheese pretzel, which was close to $6, but doesn’t come with mustard dip. They charge $1 for about half an ounce of mustard dip. Never been to a place that charges extra for mustard with the pretzel. I saw a little fruit fly buzzing around in the pastry case. Also it was 2pm and they had stopped serving coffee.
Black forest cake and ham and cheese pretzel crossiant (I think it was) tasted ok. I wasn't in love. They do have more selection on their website online. There was no wait. Make sure to arrive before closing time otherwise they will be completely packed up. There were 4 cakes to choose from, roughly 5-7 baked goods (pastries and crossiant types). I prefer sweeter cakes.
High quality deliciousness. Been to Germany like 5 times and you notice things that stand out. Good beer, driving fast on the freeway, and outstanding bakery goods. This place can legit add German bakery in their name cuz they are smacking and the quality control is on point to how i had it in the Homeland
delicious german bakery! ordered the beesting cake and poppy seed roll beesting cake: one of the best cakes I’ve ever had! the cream is so light and it pairs really well with the almond layer on top good mix of textures and flavours + not too sweet! poppy seed roll: expected poppy seed lemon flavour, but what made it really good was the crumble on top! it added a nice change in texture the roll was very large for the price so it was a good snack for our picnic :-)
Hahdough has pastries that are absolutely delicious. The hardest decision I had to make in 2 years happened when I walked into Hahdough. To choose just 1 desert is torture. It is my belief that SF. needs more German bakeries. I love everything about German deserts which are reflected at Hahdough. The customer service person was so nice and very pleasant. The choices of cakes, the Berliner, and the coffee all were superb. Since my family lives in NE. Germany-Rethwisch Börgerende, I can say with certainty, Hahdough reflects German pastries. Thank you Hahdough.
