G Cafe Bakery East Rock
534 Orange St, New Haven, CT
Crema's Take
“G Cafe Bakery is a charming New Haven spot where the espresso drinks—particularly their iced oat cortados—are genuinely excellent, and the pastry case (especially their cronuts and croissants) makes it hard to choose just one. The patio seating and relaxed vibe make it perfect for lingering with your coffee and a book, though fair warning: service can be leisurely, and hours are limited, so plan accordingly.”

The most horrible customer service experience. We had ordered a lot of food and my coffee came out in the porcelain cup and I have politely asked the waitress to make me a coffee in the to go cup. And waitress said that it is the same amount of coffee shots as in the porcelain cup and that she can just bring me a half of glass of steam milk in the to go cup. I did not even tried a coffee and touched it. No money was given back and refunded as well . No one gave me receipt for my order. I would rather pay 8$ at Starbucks but get a coffee done as I have prefer and I tipped for nothing as well as I just returned the coffee. They just don’t care about their customers.
Amazing cafe, my coffee was nice & hot, it tasted great. Very friendly & sweet staff, especially the two young ladies working yesterday afternoon! Appreciate the hospitality. Will be here again. :)
i love this place!! it’s a great setting for reading, and the coffee and pastries are delicious!! the barista with the nose piercing is my favorite. he makes the best iced oat cortado in town!! all the other baristas are also lovely and friendly. highly recommend if you’re in east rock!!
Such a lovely cafe with a brilliant array of baked goods -- I love their cronuts and croissants. This is my favourite of the three New Haven G cafes, since it has patio seating and a bread slicer, so it's worth getting a loaf of bread to take home from here too -- their St. Germain loaf is especially good. Great spot to work in over lunch, with lots of seating and charging ports. Staff are always lovely and super friendly!
- A lot of people come in here to buy loaves of bread. - I wish they had halal menu items offered here. - The service here was very slow. - hours of operation are limited (wish it was open later) - Very limited coffee menu flavors & options. Overall drink menu needs improvement& variety. The bread here is amazing, the egg and cheese was definitely fresh & cheesy. The everything crossaint was okay. The star of the show was the blueberry Cronut. The lemonade was quite regular like boxed lemonade. Wouldn’t get twice. The vibes here are nice, but it is expensive. The food came out in pretty dishes which was nice for the vibe.
