Little Luna Cafe
75 Binney St, Cambridge, MA
Crema's Take
“Little Luna Cafe is a laid-back Cambridge spot that nails the balance between quick caffeine runs and lingering over breakfast, with a low-key vibe that welcomes everyone from rushed commuters to leisurely meetups. Their kitchen shines with thoughtful, quality-forward dishes like crispy rosemary fries and perfectly executed French toast that travels well, while their specialty drinks—think lavender lattes—show real creativity beyond the usual espresso drinks. Whether you're grabbing a pastry to go or settling in for a full breakfast with friends, the self-serve model keeps things efficient without sacrificing the warmth that keeps people coming back.”

Made a quick stop here on the way to a doctor's appointment it's a very nice cafe very low key really nice vibe a lot of nice pastries all kinds of drinks variety of lunch foods and breakfast. I ordered a salmon omelette it was wonderful the home fries were huge it was a nice little spot I recommended if you're in the area
Food was similarly priced to that of Cafe Luna except everything is self serve, (no waitstaff). We ordered a salmon omelet w/ home fries and fresh fruit French toast. The salmon omelet was blander and the fries were very starchy. (Not up to par with cafe Luna). The French toast on the other hand was quite good. However, there seemed to be fibers on some of the fruit. Only realized 3/4 of the way through. I brought it to the counter, and they said it wasn’t hair, asked if it was from the napkin that I had in (why would I put it in a napkin to bring it up if there was nothing wrong with it?) They said it was from cloth fibers, as if this make it any better? And I sat back down I’m not a super confrontational person, but they could have least gave me a fruit cup to replace the fruit that had fibers on it. There was also a home fry underneath the French toast, which makes me question their food handling.
In town for work. Been up since 5am. Waited specifically for Little Luna to open to place DoorDash order for breakfast. Couldn’t wait to try their French toast. Ordered placed at 7:22am for scheduled delivery. Arrived at 8:05am. Opened bag, wrong order. Receipt outside of stapled bag was correct, food inside was not mine. I ordered the “kitchen sink” with lemon and blueberry compote, eggs scrambled soft, and turkey sausage. I received a hard scrambled egg, a meat that looks like pork (extremely fatty), and plain French toast. I can’t eat any of it. Called store and while they offered to remake it said, “I don’t know how to schedule another driver.” Requested a refund, to which the gentleman replied, “You have to call Door Dash, it’s really easy.” Wow, ok, but now I sit in my hotel room almost 4 hours after waking up, and after an hour of waiting on the delivery, with no breakfast. Extremely disappointing.
Blown away by how good the food was, and we got takeout. It was still hot when it got delivered the quality of the eggs I got the corned beef and hash. I’ll attach a photo my friend got the French toast. It was some kind of sweet bread or thick bread it was absolutely divine. They knocked it out out of the park and I’m a tough critic.
I had the black bean burrito with rosemary fries and the lavender specialty coffee. The black beans, avocado and pico de gallo were a perfect combination of flavours. The fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and that is how I like my fries. I never had lanvender scented coffee before and was surprised how well they went together. I also did not expect the food portions to be so huge as they are worth 2 full meals to me. The staff members are friendly and empathetic. They are also quick to spot subtle cues from customers when they require service. One of them helps to bring food directly to customers and she also efficiently clears the table once customers finished their food. For the atmosphere, I really liked the warm glow of the lights hanging from the ceiling that adds to the chill, relaxed mood of the cafe. Overall a very great experience and I will definitely visit this cafe again as it is very near where I stay.
