Heaven’s Deli & Smoke Shop

Great local deli with a great hot menu with many worthwhile options for tradesmen like myself… Although this spot is generally swamped with a mix of teenagers and people from the courts across the street it’s great to see an honorable place of business that values your patronage. I had a debit card transaction mistakenly declined to an account that was well funded so I paid quietly using another card… While leaving I noticed the initial declined transaction was pending against my account.. I politely spoke to the owner and he said let’s give it a day or so for the resolution with the banks.. He assured me it would be handled and honored.. After ~ 5 days and a weekend past before that initial declined transaction was paid.. I was unsure whether the owner 1) would remember this inconvenience & 2) whether he’d stand buy his word and provide me with a lunch I had already paid for,, As I came inside he greeted me very kindly and asked if the transaction had actually gone through as it had. He smiled and said then we will provide you lunch per gratis today.. I even offered to show him proof and he quickly dismissed it as a slight insult.. It’s a pleasure to spend my hard earned money with earnest, trustworthy and grateful ownership such as this.. I highly recommend this extremely reputable honest establishment… 👍🏽 Ps the mixed gyro combo is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING 💯

This place is a real hidden gem! I stop here often after a jaunt to the dispensary to reup on snacks and pick up something from the deli, because anyone thats ever been here knows its hard to find a better deal. Gyro combos (featuring fries and a can of soda) for about 8 bucks, lamb and rice dishes for about the same price, burgers, breakfast sandwiches, hell even a decent lil philly cheesesteak! The food here is so good that I basically plan my dispensary trips around their hours (the deli closes at 3pm and they arent open sundays). They even have some comfy seating if you want to eat the meal there. Honestly, its got a pretty fitting name. This whole section of newark ave is chock full of amazing places.

Don’t believe these reviews. More than half of the chips and snacks are EXPIRED!!!! And they will watch you like a hawk when you check the expiration dates. They are expensive: bagel and coffee cost $6 WTH. Rude and nasty attitude. Gave no bag or napkin. Rush you out and rush to the next customer. The food is horrible quality. The chicken is from the 99¢ store I promise you. The guys who cook it try their best but these Indian guys are cheap. Dunkin is better than even them.

A very neat and clean deli with delicious sandwiches and wraps. They have an amazing cigar collection. The staff are extremely courteous. All in all a perfect neighborhood convenience store.
