Crema's Take

Morgenstern is a beloved indie bookstore where the coffee is almost secondary to the carefully curated selection of fiction, non-fiction, and an especially strong children's section that keeps both kids and adults happily browsing for hours. The cozy café feels genuinely local and unpretentious—perfect for settling in with a laptop, meeting a friend, or letting your family explore the thoughtfully arranged displays across surprisingly expansive shelves. With a near-perfect rating and devoted regulars willing to drive hours out of their way, this is the kind of place where the books, the coffee, and the welcoming atmosphere combine into something special that chain bookstores simply can't replicate.

A true gem, honestly I would be tempted to go ahead and give Morgenstern's 5 stars just based on the book store. They have a wise selection, helpful staff, and a lot of fun/interesting weekly & monthly events. On top of that the cafe has enough drink and snack options to be a meaningful alternative to larger corporate coffee places.

Wonderful independent bookstore, with an excellent selection of fiction, non-fiction, best sellers and a superb children's book section. Also games and activities for young and old. Lovely coffee, tea and pastries area to take a break in. You will find gifts galore, many featuring local artists and crafts artisans. Big bonus: a monthly schedule of book readings and events for all ages. Don't pass up the opportunity to visit this engaging, magical store.

I'm mostly a manga reader so, while I wish the manga section was bigger, I also get they cater more to novel readers which is perfectly fine. The cafe they have inside is completely local and unfranchised. It has some pretty good coffee for a pretty fair price! It can be kind of hard to find space in the cafe corner, but that's because it's a local favorite. Don't be afraid to ask to take a seat at the community tables! People here are usually super friendly. Maybe not talkative (especially if they're studying or working), but always nice.

A spectacular independent book store! It was more than worth the almost two hour drive. The selection of books is truly outstanding - so many genres. There is a book for everyone’s taste and interest! It is perfectly organized and clean. I bought three books signed by the author there. The cafe is delightful! I had an amazing Christmas-y latte. Next time I visit I will try one of the delicious pastries. I truly wish I lived closer - I would definitely join one or more of their book clubs! Even with the drive, you guys have a new loyal customer and I will be back after the snow!

Phenomenal indie bookstore! They pack a lot into a relatively small space. Has every major category that I'd expect to find at a Barnes & Noble, just more curated. Their displays are attractive and mix in a lot of well-themed non-book merchandise. Their giftware and original art by local artists and crafters makes it a solid gift shop as well. Nice selection of bags/tees/gifts from Out Of Print. Great café.
