Crema's Take
“This sprawling, beautifully styled Chicago spot is a crepe destination where French-trained precision meets creative ambition, drawing raves for standouts like the legendary Butter & Sugar and inventive combinations like the Nutella latte. Beyond the exceptional crepes, it's a welcoming space built for lingering over a full breakfast spread and specialty coffee drinks, equally suited for solo coffee contemplation or gathering with friends. The warm, spacious atmosphere and generous portions make it the kind of neighborhood gem worth the visit, even if execution can be inconsistent across their menu.”

As a French person, I don’t say this lightly: these are one of the best crepes I’ve ever had.👩🏼🍳 We ordered the Chicken Pesto and the Ham & Cheese both were incredible. Perfect texture, generous fillings, full of flavor. For dessert, the Matcha crepe was just as good. The decor is trendy and very raw with lots of wood. It looks nice but it’s not very cozy :/ it could use softer touches. The front is cuter than the back (where you can see the fridges). Also important: it’s a screen-free café so you can’t work on a laptop there. Food-wise though? Absolutely outstanding. I’d come back just for the crêpes 😋
Wonderful food and atmosphere! I got the loks with a fried egg, the wild berry cheesecake, and a Nutella latte. My only complaint is with the person who took my order. He did not seem particularly enthused to be there, and also seemed to be in a rush. Other than that, a good experience!
One of the best crepe place in Chicago? Nope, its the BEST! Period, no discussion. Butter & Sugar is literally the best one of them all but only if you are a purist when it comes to flavors.
A very beautiful and spacious place with a style. The only thing is, they need to work on their crepes! We ordered one with a turkey and second was with a matcha. The both were completely tasteless. The turkey had onion that seemed boiled and chopped with huge chunks. The sauce was off. The matcha crepe was too creamy and the matcha was bitter! Means that they use cheap and bad quality matcha. The guy at the bar seemed unhappy to see us. The service was okay, but fast. The only thing that was good was the coffee.
I got the ham and cheese crepe. I couldn’t finish it cause it was so rich and heavy. We were a party of 3 and none of us could finish theres. I would recommend getting a couple different crepes and sharing them amongst the table. The coffee selection was good which was a plus. Overall, the vibe just wasn’t my style and not somewhere I’d want to post up in. Maybe that’s why they make it a no laptop zone. The swinging birdcage chairs at the front of the restaurant were cool.
