Java Joe's Coffeehouse
129 N Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny, IA
Crema's Take
“Java Joe's pairs a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere perfect for lingering with thoughtful drink craftsmanship and bagel-forward breakfast fare, though consistency can be hit-or-miss with their specialty beverages. The staff clearly cares about getting things right, and regulars rave about the cozy environment and creative seasonal offerings like their pumpkin frosted bagel bites paired with drinks like English toffee lattes. Just know what you're ordering so you get what you're paying for—cold brew is different from iced coffee here.”

Ordered a cold brew, paid a cold brew price, got an iced coffee. There is a difference. Definitely not coming back
The entrance is actually directly below the TJ.Bagels sign however, I visited 2 days ago and was treated great by the customer service at the desk and with my order. They were trying and had patience since the sign I referenced was no longer there. I didn't have any fun in the past that I wasn't pleased with the employee's customer service or the attitude.I could tell was going on behind the counter. Nevertheless, the food was good and atmosphere could be enhance with a few more comfy options. I chose cheese and egg on a croissant, An assiago bagel with garden vedge, And my new favorite, the caramel apple cider. Which, by the way, is not just a fall or seasonal drink... It's available year round!
Delish and tons of choices! Today pumpkin frosted bagel bites and everything breakfast bagel with English toffee latte. Just go!! It’s delish and relaxing environment.
I stopped by for the first time yesterday. I had bad info from reading old reviews and thought I was going to be able to get a basic breakfast. While there were no omletes available, I did order a breakfast bowl, a bagel with cream cheese and a medium tea. My total was $19 pre-tip. I did not consider the value representative of the quality. My favorite part of the meal was the bacon cheese bagel with chive cream cheese. I tried to get through the bowl, it just... wasn't enjoyable to me. The atmosphere was good. They only had 2 accessible wall plugs. One of the plugs is located on the wall at head height behind a large couch. The other is located via extension cord at the first booth. Not ideal for computer work. Service was good. No complaints there.
I wish I would’ve taken a picture but wasn’t around for long. Phenomenal place to come eat and the service is great. Very friendly and great environment. Never thought I’d be a big fan of bagels but after coming here it changed. So many different options you’re bound to find one that you’ll like. 10/10 would come again
