Truly a gem in South Durham. Daughters is a cozy hideaway in an unassuming shopping center. You’ll find expertly curated displays of diverse books (Black History Month, LGBTQ+, etc.), cute themed non-alcoholic beverages, local baked goods, and genres ranging from kids’ lit to adult fiction and beyond. They also sell cute notebooks and other trinkets. There’s several tables for seating and a few couches. The kids area has a few toys and seats, too. The staff is kind, the lighting isn’t too bright, and the vibes are immaculate. I can’t rave about this place enough!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This coffee shop is such a gem with super easy access from I-40. They have an amazing coffee selection, and I tried the Aphrodite's Embrace which was refreshing and full of flavor. The atmosphere inside is lively and welcoming, with a great vibe for hanging out or getting some book reading or work done!
I loved the atmosphere and the service I got! Tons of books for all ages and genres, with many diverse authors represented. The tea was good but the ice melted and made it super watery, I suggest asking for no ice. The cups are small but the prices arent bad so it’s okay, you get the amount you pay for. Advice for the management: please change the hours on Google/Maps to reflect that you’ll be closed for holiday hours. I wanted to come see yall again today and it said open on Google and on your website but was closed when I got there. I completely understand bc it’s Labor Day, but a warning would be nice 🙂
I’m so excited Daughters opened up in our neighborhood area. I’ve been looking for another great LOCAL coffee shop for remote work days and this is officially my new favorite. The staff are SO NICE! It’s the kind of place that makes you feel welcomed whether it’s your first time or twentieth. They sell both used and new books and also host small events on occasion. Not to mention their coffee is sooo good! Love all the fun flavors and they’ve got other juice/tea drink options as well and a small selection of baked goods.
Love love love this coffee shop!! By far my favorite in Durham. There is a cute corner for kids with toys and books where they can enjoy time with other kids or parents. They also sell lots of kid and adult books. The cappuccino was superb!
