I really liked this coffee shop. The breakfast was delicious, as was the coffee. And there was a real Italian atmosphere.
Best fresh orange juice in town !!! And I also love chai latte and carrots cake , they are so good.
I saw a good Google rating and decided to get a coffee, expecting a high quality espresso given Italy's renowned coffee culture. The sky blue door and matching outdoor seating were cute. The Vespa parked outside was iconic, aligning with their culture; whether ridden or purely for aesthetic purposes, we liked it. I also liked the hand written aesthetic of the menus and outdoor signage. While the fake flower gate situation was a bit tacky, I understood their artistic intention. Upon entering, it was packed. We had hoped to find a seat to try their bread or pastry, as the cannoli, other pastries, and breads looked really good. But due to the crowd, we opted for drinks to go. Although outdoor seating was available, it was raining, so patrons were gathered inside the covered booth area. It is indeed a popular spot. My friends and I ordered the cold brew, iced pistachio latte, hot latte, and hot Americano. The Americano was good, confirming my initial positive bias. The iced pistachio latte was interesting; it did taste of pistachio but was too sweet for my preference. While I have not tried the cold brew or hot latte, my friends seemed satisfied with their choices. Service was also good. They greeted us with a smile and were prompt in getting the drinks ready, likely due to the small space. There is no public bathroom available, so I would advise stopping by a restroom before your visit. Overall, the drinks were good, but I do not think I would return just for the coffees since seating seems competitive. However, I do want to try their other food and pastry options when I have the chance.
Caffe De Martini is my favorite cafe in NYC, and if I lived in the city I would be going here EVERY WEEK! The cappuccino here is the best I've had from all the coffee places I've tried and their great food and pastry options will satisfy you. The decor and outside seating they have available is beautiful and really gives this place a unique charm. I highly recommend!
I am trying a few of my local coffee shops as a Friday afternoon treat. Popped in here by myself and although the space is small I was lucky enough to find a table. The staff were welcoming and I ordered a truffle brownie and the De Martini Nutella special. In hindsight these two items together were too much and I wish I had just ordered a plainer coffee. The coffee itself was good quality but the addition of the Nutella with such a small amount of coffee was a bit much for me. The brownie was very rich and I was only able to eat half (although I did take the other half home to eat later, it was too good to leave). All in all I think Caffe De Martini is a lovely spot and I will visit again but order something a little less rich.
