French Truck Coffee

420 N Scott St, New Orleans, LA

Crema's Take

French Truck Coffee brings a lush, peaceful garden vibe to New Orleans' coffee scene with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating that feels equally suited for lingering with a friend or settling in with your laptop. Their espresso and pour-over work best when paired with their pastries, though reviews suggest the food program has been inconsistent lately. The real draw here is the atmosphere itself—a green, serene escape in the city where the space feels as thoughtfully crafted as the coffee.

French Truck: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5 Atmosphere: 4 Service: 4 Materials: 3 Coffee-Quality: 4 Physical Space: 2 I give my ratings out of 5 with 0 being atrocious, 2 being the baseline, and 5 being absolute perfection. I rate the black coffee options: drip, french press, and pour over’s but I will try and include my wife’s thoughts on the latte’s. This is one of the better coffee shops in the city. It is clean and brightly colored, and the coffee is in the upper echelon. The pour over’s are always incredible, and the shop’s emphasis on single origin coffee shines throughout. The music is always enjoyable although can be a little loud in the space. When it comes to the physical, that would be the biggest complaint. The fact this is a chain is painstakingly obvious as the chairs are hard, uncomfortable, and quite bland. Sound is not deadened in the slightest so conversations can be hard to hear during peak times. The breakfast wrap is delightful though so I can get over the sound. Overall, I would recommend French Truck Coffee, you will not regret stopping by.

Unfortunately I think there quality of the food which wasn't that great to start with has dropped. The coffee is okay. My advocado toast barely had any avocado on it. Too bad. I used to like the place but I don't tend to go there anymore. The staff is lovely, though. They are what brings me back more than anything else. I also like the outdoor seating.

Regular customer who usually orders the smoked salmon toast and loves it (was one of my favorites in the whole city). Now o go this morning and am informed that no longer do they allow you to double toast without ordering a whole other one, ok.. accepted that but when I receive the salmon toast their signature cream cheese is no longer used and it is DROWNING in regular cream cheese. Disappointed, I could and will be making this at home from now on.

This is such a great location! I love how green and peaceful the surroundings are. There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outside. The coffee and pastries were delicious. The avocado toast was just okay, but I’d definitely come back for the atmosphere and the coffee.

I was meeting a friend and they had suggested this place. i had been to other French Truck Coffee places before, but never to this location and didn’t know that they served food. i got the hot chocolate plus the avocado toast. the hot chocolate was good and the avocado toast was outstanding. great bread, good avocado spread and excellent flavoring of the tomatoes and cucumber salad on top. nice location and ambiance as well on the Laffite greenway
